One of the best compliments that can be paid to a venue is that years down the road it still has the look, feel and appeal it oozed when it opened. As Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., celebrates its 15th birthday this year, it is one such facility that defies the years and has the same aura of newness and freshness it did in 2000 when the doors first opened. “Believe it or not, people still call this the new building in town,” said venue veteran Jack Larson, who joined Xcel Energy Center as vice president/general manager the year after it opened after having worked at the Target Center in Minneapolis. “It still has a new-building feel to it, and the ownership group has committed to keeping the building first- class, clean and maintained.” PAGE 60 > SEPTEMBER 2015 VENUES TODAY 58 s Frozen Four Four Four Four Frozen Frozen Frozen Frozen s s s s Jason Aldean U.S. Figure Skating Michael Bublé Fleetwood Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Mac Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood Fleetwood National Championships Four Four Frozen Frozen Men’s Men’s Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ Men’ NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA NCAA TaylorTaylor SwiftSwift AC/DC Dave Matthews Band Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Carol King & Prince Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Peppers Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Chili Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red Red World’sWWorld’orld’orld’ss TToughestTToughestoughest RodeoRodeoRodeo James TaylorTaylor Bruno Mars Minnesota Wild Eric Clapton Elton John Coldplay The Eagles Foo Fighters Justin TimberlakeTimberlake NHL All Star George Strait Madonna Game Stars On Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice Ice On On On On On On On On On On Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Stars Katy Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Katy Billy Joel Joel Joel Joel Joel Joel Billy Billy Billy Billy Billy Billy .com Bon Jovi Jovi Jovi Jovi Jovi Jovi Jovi Jovi Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon Santana Santana Santana Santana Santana Santana Santana Santana Santana orld Cup of Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey Hockey of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup Cup orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld orld World Cup of Hockey Hockey of of Cup Cup World W World THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES Cheers to 15 remarkable years in sports and entertainment. June 13, 2014 Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and Elton John Should Get a Divorce -- From Walmart Posted: 07/29/2013 11:25 am Every year Walmart holds a combination shareholder meeting and pep rally to whip up enthusiasm and promote its image as a good investment and a good corporate citizen. These huge events have the quality of a religious revival meeting, including testimonials and music to keep its stockholders and employees (whom Walmart calls "associates") enthralled. Women's Wear Daily called last month's event, with 14,000 shareholders and employees, "a high-octane, entertainment-filled spectacle with moments devoted to business." The company always invites celebrities to entertain and mingle. At last month's gathering in Bentonville, Arkansas -- the company's headquarters --- singers Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, and Prince Royce performed, Hugh Jackman emceed, and Tom Cruise cruised the crowd, then mounted the stage and said: "I've wanted to come here for quite some time, actually because the culture you have here is like no other. I truly admire your company. [It's] a role model for how business can address some of the biggest issues facing our world." He also praised Walmart for "using its size and scale to improve women's lives around the world." Even the celebrities, however, couldn't completely drown out the comments of a several uninvited and unwelcomed guests who raised questions about Walmart's business practices. With the decade coming to a close a few weeks ago, the editorial staff decided that we should fl ashback to the ideas and moments that shaped the decade. As we adjust to life in the new “roaring twenties,” here is a breakdown of the most prominent events of each year from the past decade. 2010: On January 12, an earthquake registering a magnitude 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Haiti, causing about 250,000 deaths and 300,000 injuries. On March 23, the Aff ordable Care Act is signed into law by Barack Obama. Commonly referred to as “Obamacare,” it was considered one of the most extensive health care reform acts since Medicare, which was passed in 1965. On April 20, a Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded over the Gulf of Mexico. Killing eleven people, it is considered one of the worst oil spills in history and the largest in US waters. On July 25, Wikileaks, an organization that allows people to anonymously leak classifi ed information, released more than 90,000 documents related to the Afghanistan War. It is oft en referred to as the largest leak of classifi ed information since the Pentagon Papers during the Vietnam War. Th e New Orleans Saints won their fi rst Super Bowl since Hurricane Katrina, LeBron James made his way to Miami, Kobe Bryant won his fi nal title, and Butler went on a Cinderella run to the NCAA Championship. But not before she agreed to take a fl yer as an actress with a guest shot on the hit tele vi- sion sitcom Ugly Betty. It seemed like a harm- Aless diversion from all the drama and pressure in her life. She reasoned, how hard could it be to play herself? In the episode, Betty is dancing with her husband at their wedding when the couple is suddenly interrupted by Adele. Th ere is some harmless banter and the next thing we know Adele is up on stage singing the song “Right As Rain.” Adele realized that that kind of promotion in America was well worth the eff ort, but would later acknowledge in Vogue that the Ugly Betty experience cured her of any future acting aspirations. “I can’t watch it. I was so uncomfortable. I am the worst actress of all time.” But Adele was thankful for the momentary respite from Marc Shapiro her day job as singer-songwriter on the rise.

  • Minutes in What You Have Said That He Wishes to Rebut, Then I Am Going to Ask Him to Do That
Appendix 2 Mayor’s Question Time – Monday 24 February 2020 Transcript of Item 4B – Questions to the Mayor Jennette Arnold OBE AM (Chair): We now move to questions on the budget and we have lead-off questions from political groups. The format will be as follows: the first question will come from the Labour Group, then we will take questions from the City Hall Greens Group, then the GLA Conservatives and then the Brexit Alliance Group. Can I ask Assembly Member Duvall to put his question? Len Duvall AM: Can you tell us if there are any technical changes that you have made to your budget around collections and issues like that in the financial aspects of the budget? Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): Yes, there are some changes to the budget since I was last here. There has been a revision to the GLA’s Capital Strategy to include the correct level of annual housing need, there has been the inclusion of the Homelessness Grant which is now being received and an adjustment to the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) capital programme to reflect the Government’s cut to MOPAC’s specific capital grant. You will be aware that there has been new funding in relation to the receipt of council tax and business rates, which were better than we thought. Len Duvall AM: Obviously that will enable you to do a little bit more for Londoners in terms of your future priorities and in terms of this budget. Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): Absolutely. As you have seen, the overall total available to allocate is circa £143 million and I have set out in the final budget how we spend and allocate that £143 million, which I referred to in my opening statement.
