Citycenter Case Study CityCenter LAS VEGAS, NEVADA PROJECT SPOTLIGHT CityCenter | Las Vegas, Nevada PROJECT FACTS: General Contractor: Perini Building Company Master Plan: Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut & Kuhn Architects Architects: Arthur Gensler, Helmut Jahn, Eugene Kohn, Daniel Libeskind, Cesar Pelli, David Rockwell, Rafael Viñoly Property: CityCenter ONE OF THE LARGEST PRIVATE DEVELOPMENTS IN HISTORY INCLUDES SOME OF OUR FINEST FAUCETS. CityCenter changed the look of Vegas. And altered the landscape of urban architecture. Grail by Delta On December 16, 2009, MGM MIRAGE and Infinity World Development Corp., a subsidiary of Dubai World, unveiled CityCenter: a monumental, mixed-use complex covering 67 acres on the Las Vegas strip. The largest privately funded construction project in U.S. history, CityCenter is composed of multiple buildings—including the ARIA Resort & Casino, the Vdara Hotel & Spa, the Mandarin Oriental hotel, the Harmon Hotel, Veer Towers, and Crystals, a predominantly retail venue. Featuring fine dining, entertainment, and luxurious accommodations, CityCenter was designed to create an unparalleled experience for guests and residents alike. A resort that could have picked any faucets in the world chose ours. For a resort eager to create a unique, sophisticated experience, Delta® and Brizo® products were an obvious choice. Some of the companies’ most distinctive products, including Delta Grail® kitchen faucets and Brizo Quiessence® lavatories, showers and Roman tub faucets, now grace many of CityCenter’s more than 6,700 guest rooms and residences. Working closely with MGM personnel, Delta even created two custom lavatory designs for the ARIA Resort & Casino—and later adapted elements of the resulting concepts for its own Vero® line. Quiessence by Brizo LUXURY COMES WITH A CONSCIENCE. Because water conservation is a high priority in the desert climate of Las Vegas, the designers of CityCenter needed to create a development that was both unforgettable and sustainable. Fortunately, the stylish designs of Delta and Brizo were married to innovative technology—helping the resort meet stringent water-efficiency standards, and achieve six LEED® Gold certifications without compromising its luxury experience. COMPONENT ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS 45 YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE A SPECIALA SPECIAL ADVERTISING ADVERTISING SUPPLEMENT SUPPLEMENT TO NEWTO NEW YORK YORK CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION A TRADITION OF LEADERSHIP CAS has grown during the past 45 years from three employees to our present workforce of over 1200. The focus of our people has always been on teamwork. There is an “esprit de corps” that developed early on, and has never wavered. Many of our employees have been with us for over 30 years and have watched fathers retire and their sons become part of our integral family. The following letter written to me last year from one of our retired superintendents from our Boston office sums up how he felt about the company and how proud he is now to have his sons working for us as carpenter foremen: “I am writing this letter to you now as I should have three years ago when I retired. The purpose is to thank you for a great 25 years that I have worked for CAS. Lew, you always put a lot of effort in what went on around you, and the way you treated the people that worked for you. I think a lot of that rubbed off on your workforce. I have worked for other companies in the past but, above all, CAS is it.” We at CAS stand behind our reputation that has been built over the past 45 years, and we wish to thank all of the companies with whom we have worked and whom have steadfastly supported us. The leadership and vision of Arthur Doerner, President of CAS, H.

Design Update CREATING CITYCENTER MGM MIRAGE’s urbane and sustainable “city within a city” redefines Las Vegas CityCenter is for people who want the Las Vegas they’ve never seen before. Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO, MGM MIRAGE This is the future of Las Vegas—CityCenter is in an entirely different category. Bobby Baldwin, President and CEO, CityCenter CityCenter is the best example anywhere of a REINVENTING collaborative design process. Art Gensler, Founder and Chairman, Gensler LAS VEGAS Once a generation, Las Vegas reinvents itself. In the Rat Pack era, it embraced midcentury modernism. Then, The Mirage and Bellagio remade The Strip as an entertainment resort 12/16/09 destination. Early in this new century, MGM MIRAGE CityCenter Grand Opening envisioned a “city within a city”—a new symbol of Las Vegas that, in the words of CityCenter’s Bobby Baldwin, combines “the vitality of Las Vegas with the experiences tourists seek in great cities around the world.” In 2005, master plan in hand, MGM MIRAGE asked Gensler to join it and make CityCenter a reality.
