Set up an account with Relay Bikes to find and reserve nearby bicycle. Enter the 4 digit pin for your reservation at the bicycle stand and pull out the lock bar to release your bike. Adjust height of seat and check the breaks before using. If using these for your commute, a monthly pass or annual pass is suggested. The monthly pass is only $15 per month, and the annual pass is $10 per month. Additional discounted rate plans are available for students and low-income residents. Each pass allows for 90 minutes of daily riding time. Start at the rack near your origination point, hook the bike up to the rack near your destination and check in the bike. Later, re-rent a bike after work for the return trip. Depending on length of commute, both ways should be included under your 90 minute daily limit on the pass. SOPO Bicycle Cooperative - Have a bicycle but finding maintaining it technically or financially difficult? The primary assistance offered at SOPO is assistance and immensely affordable parts to help you to repair and maintain your bicycle. The staff won’t do the work for you, but they will help you to do it correctly yourself. There is also a program to provide bicycles to persons in need, in order to improve their transportation options; there is limited information available online as to program qualifications/limitations. Grady Health System at Grady Memorial Hospital - Hospital services in general are Not offered on a sliding scale and would typically bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. However, the hospital does offer Free STD Testing (for Chlamydia, HIV, Gonorrhea, HPV, Hepatitis B and C, and Syphilis). The center offers free and confidential screenings for STDs (only charge is a $5 fee for Syphilis tests) with no appointment necessary. The Clinic is open Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10am to 5pm, with a 1 hour closing from 12pm to 1pm. Free mental health counseling is available with providers specialized in the unique needs of the community. The center can help with HIV testing and access to care services if tests return positive. The Wellness Clinic provides women’s health care including well woman visits, pap tests, pelvic exams, clinical breast exams, pregnancy testing, family planning, physical exams, lab services, and HIV and STD testing and treatment. The clinic provides routine primary care, helps patients manage chronic illness or disease, and helps with access to prescription medications. Diagnostics available to assess ear/nose/throat/bronchial/respiratory/ urinary tract infections, rashes, STD testing, mammograms, pap smears, prostate screenings, and diagnosis of COPD, Asthma, High Cholesterol, Arthritis, Hypertension and Diabetes. Qualified individuals must be over 18 years of age, a resident of metro Atlanta, income less than 200% the Federal poverty level. To access services, make an appointment and bring proof of income.

Good Samaritan Health Center - Located at 1015 Donals Lee Hollowell Parkway NW (30318), the clinic is open Monday to Thursday 7:45am - 4pm and Friday/Saturday 7:45am to noon. Good Samaritan provides prenatal care, medical care (like sick visits, annual check ups, physicals), specialist medical care (orthopedics, physical therapy, cardiology, etc.), health education, and medications. Services are offered on a sliding scale according to financial capacity.

Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation - A statewide network focused on providing vision screenings, eye exams, eyeglasses, eye surgery, hearing screenings, and hearing aids at low-cost based on income. Southside Medical Center - Located at 1046 Ridge Ave. SW (33333), this clinic offers a wide variety of services on a sliding scale based on income. Services offered include Adult Medicine, HIV / AIDS prevention, testing and counseling, Optometry, Pediatrics and Teen Health, Specialty Medicine, Weight and Diabetes Care, a Women’s Health Center, and Pharmacy services. Whitefoord Family Medical Center - Located at 30 Warren St. (30317), the clinic is open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with extended hours until 6pm on Thursdays. The clinic provides primary health care for adults, including physical exams, lab testing, certain cancer screenings, treatment of chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma, and treatment of routine illness like the flu or acute injuries. Services offered include primary care, public health, and behavioral health services. Services are offered on a sliding scale model so services may not be free depending on your income. Bring proof of income, residency and family size to appointments to qualify for reduced cost care.

Ben Massell Dental Clinic – Potential patients must qualify for care. To see if you are eligible, call the clinic at 404-881-1858 on Monday mornings starting at 9am and select option 2. Leave a voicemail and they will call back. The mailbox fills up quickly each week so try early and if the clinic has filled for the week, try again the following Monday. To qualify for service, you must have proof of county residency for the past six months at least, have no current dental insurance, have a total household income at or below 125% of the current poverty level, and be a resident of one of the following counties – Butts, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding or Rockdale.

Fulton County Health Clinics – Adamsville Regional Health Center is located at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, 30331, and can be reached by phone at (404) 612-9339. The clinic is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm and Tuesdays until 7pm. The clinic is focused on youth ages 4 to 25, and offers dental services. Individual vaccines are generally $20 - $35 and packages are generally $50 - $80. They also offer discounted preventative care, including flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventatives. Preventatives are purchased in single doses according to the pets’ weight. No appointment is necessary for purchase of preventatives - just stop by the clinic during office hours.

SpayGeorgia – A statewide program which provides certificates to cover the cost of routine spay/neuter surgery. Vaccinations, testing for diseases, deworming, and all other medical procedures not outlined above are not covered by the certificate. The Certificate is not free but is offered at a low-cost based on financial need. Most vet clinics will require that your pet’s vaccinations are up to date to take on spaying or neutering your pet. Animal Alliance of Georgia – This is a traveling clinic so the most current information for this organization is available on their Facebook page (search Animal Alliance of Georgia on Facebook). The Alliance offers low cost vaccination, grooming and microchipping services. Recent clinics appear to take place on weekends around mid-day. Samples of services and vaccines available include DHPP ($10), Bordetella ($10), Lepto ($10), FVRCP (cat - $10), Rabies ($10), and microchipping for $20. Services are cash only.

Vetco Clinics at Petco Stores – Offered primary on weekends, the clinics are available at area Petco Stores. Stores offer clinics every few weeks. Appointments are not necessary and no exam fee is charged – only the cost of vaccine or treatment. Packages of common vaccines are available – Healthy Puppy vaccine package is $69, Health Dog Plus package is $89, Healthy Cat/Kitten package is $59. Vaccines are also available at individual prices.

The Adult Day Care Program offers health, social and other support services for dependent seniors with physical or cognitive impairments. Community-Based Assistance is a program where the subsidy stays with the property – ie. Providing specific properties with assistance in order to keep rents low. Many communities have waiting lists and may not have immediate availability. Tenant-Based Assistance is a program where the subsidy stays with the tenant regardless of the specific community – though the landlord you select will have to be one that allows for subsidized housing vouchers. There are also specific programs for Family Reunification, residents with developmental or mental health disabilities, and individuals who have battled chronic homelessness. While eligibility guidelines vary, all programs have an income limitations determined according to the annual HUD guidelines. Participants are also subject to periodic evaluation of continued eligibility.

HOPE Atlanta – HOPE Atlanta offers three primary housing programs, as well as a shelter in Gwinnett County. The Homeless Prevention program provides services aimed at addressing issues that can lead to eviction and homelessness. These services include case management, crisis counseling, information and referral services, and financial assistance. The Rapid Re-Housing Program helps homeless households to find permanent housing and provides assistance with housing search, security deposits and rental assistance. The Supportive Housing Program is a permanent housing program for those with special needs, the chronically homeless, homeless women and women with children. The intention is to promote self-sufficiency and offers a full continuum of prevention, intervention, and on-going support services. The program offers intensive case management focused on breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Someone Cares Atlanta - Located at 1950 Spectrum Circle SE, Suite 200 in Marietta, Someone Cares Atlanta is focused on often under-served and marginalized population groups including LGBTQIA+ and homeless populations. Assistance includes referrals for shelters and housing opportunities, advocacy, support services, counseling and mental health resources. For more information, call (678) 921 – 2706.

Invest Atlanta – Invest Atlanta has multiple programs available to help those residents interested in purchasing a home in metro-Atlanta with down payment assistance. Down payment assistance requires a 5 step process; 1. A 90 minute Q&A session, 2. Homebuyer education classes, 3. Qualification for a mortgage with a participating lender, 4. Finding a home within the city of Atlanta limits, 5. Working with a participating Invest Atlanta attorney for closing processes. Another Invest Atlanta initiative, Home Atlanta 4.0, helps potential homeowners who meet income qualifications to get a FHA or VA mortgage and receive a 3.5% grant towards down payment and closing costs. The Vine City Renaissance Initiative helps qualified homeowners who plan to stay in their home for 5+ years with up to $10,000 towards down payment and closing costs. Atlanta Affordable Homeownership Program helps eligible candidates with up to $14,000 towards down payment or closing costs – funds which can be fully forgiven after living in the home for 5 years. The ATL Home Renovation Advantage program is for home owners who use a home renovation mortgage loan and plan to stay 10+ years in their home. Participants can get $10,000 towards down payment and closing costs. Finally, the In-town Mortgage Assistance Program helps qualified homeowners who plan to stay in their homes at least 10 years with securing a mortgage and will provide $10,000 towards down payment and closing costs.

Beltline Affordable Housing – This initiative builds affordable housing communities in greater Atlanta. As of 2019, they have 2,682 affordable homes within walking distance of the , with 582 additional units slated for 2020. They also provide qualified participants with down payment assistance in tandem with Invest Atlanta. Beltline Affordable Housing has resources available regarding home ownership and workshops.

Georgia Dream – A program for first time homebuyers, Georgia Dream provides up to $5,000 in down payment assistance for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage through FHA, VA or USDA. Must qualify for one of the aforementioned government programs, have a minimum 640+ credit score, attend home buyer education, meet income limits and purchase price limits, not have more than $20,000 liquid assets, and be applying to purchase an owner-occupied 1-unit property.

CORE (Children of Restaurant Employees) Program - This program offers grants to qualified candidates that can help to cover medical bills for children, gas cards, groceries, clothing, medical supplies & therapies, utilities, rent/mortgage payments, and other essential needs specific to the given family’s situation. Additional information and application are available at coregives.org. This program is specific to restaurant employees who have children and experience the hardship of any of the following;

A. A Diagnosed medical condition (child or parent) B. An Injury or Accident (child or parent).

The Giving Kitchen - This program is catered specifically to those in the restaurant industry. For team members who have experienced an unexpected hardship, crisis grants may be available to cover rent and utilities. Broad categories of hardships eligible for these grants include Injury, Illness, Natural Disaster, and Funeral/Death of an Immediate Family Member. The low-income housing energy assistance program is aimed to keep families safe and healthy by assisting with energy costs. Applications take 30 days for processing and assistance is based on income limits (household of 1 max income of $22,839 / household of 4 max income of $43,921). GA Institute of Technology Financial Wellness Courses - Georgia Tech has an in-person course for both undergraduate and graduate level students that takes place on Mondays from 5pm to 6pm and runs multiple sessions each semester with 30 slots per session. The course covers budgeting, avoiding debt, investing, and spending wisely. There is also a free online course available. Both courses are only for GA Tech students but are a great resource within the community.

Georgia State University Psychology Clinic - The Clinic is staffed by students of Georgia State’s graduate program in clinical psychology and offers affordable services to adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples from the greater Atlanta area. Counseling and assessment services are provided by doctoral graduates students supervised by licensed psychologists. Services offered include individual counseling, couples therapy, and adult group counseling. The clinic also offers intervention treatment for children and adolescents, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, family counseling, social skills training, parent training and parent-child interaction therapy. The group is unaffiliated with AA or NA, but many participants of the group forums do find that the 12 step programs are a second phase in their recovery. Ben’s Friends is an open discussion by restaurant industry folks from your immediate community, all of whom recognize that they may have a problem and who have a desire to stop drinking or using. The group is a weekly dialogue that takes place in many cities throughout the United States. The Atlanta chapter meets weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at noon at O-Ku (1085 Howell Mill Rd. Atlanta (30318). All are welcome and there is no pressure to participate in the meeting until you are ready.

St. Jude’s Recovery Center - St. Jude’s offers a comprehensive continuum of care from detox to permanent housing and medication assisted treatment. 24 hour supervision is available for men and women who require medical stabilization of withdrawal symptoms. Outpatient services are also available, with day treatment programs including psycho-educational groups, individual and group therapy, skill building groups, 12-step programs, and relapse prevention. Group and individual counseling is available for all clients who are either residential or have completed intensive day treatment. Dekalb Addiction Clinic - This clinic is the oldest substance abuse treatment program in the state of Georgia, offering comprehensive and individually tailored abstinence-based and recovery-oriented programs. Treatment includes group counseling, individual counseling, skill building education, random urine screening, family education groups, family therapy, and case management. Groups are offered during day and evening hours. Outpatient treatment is available, as are 12 step program meetings (NA, AA, Secular Organization for Sobriety, and SMART Recovery). A full diagnostic and nursing assessment is conducted, and referral to outside services is available if necessary. Crisis services are also available. Mary Hall Freedom House - Mary Hall House is a women’s residential substance abuse treatment center focused on ending the cycle of addictions, poverty and homelessness for women in Metro Atlanta. It is located north of Metro Atlanta in Sandy Springs GA, but may be a good option for those needing a residential level of care. The clinic is located at 8995 Roswell Rd. Sandy Springs, GA and can be reached by phone at (770) 642-5500, Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm.

Last Update September, 2019 One Step at a Time Recovery - One Step is a six to twelve month residential substance abuse / sober living program in the Atlanta area. The program focuses on sobriety that is sustainable by also addressing emotional healing and behavioral change. The program is structured around the 12 steps of Alcoholics / Narcotics Anonymous. Covenant Community, Inc. - This is a residential program focused on helping men who are dealing with substance abuse and are homeless. Treatments range from 6 months to 1 year, with the first 10 weeks of treatment consisting of Life Stabilization Classes, followed by 7 weeks of career counseling & training, and then transition planning. The program is available to adult males (over age 18), who are homeless, have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, and have been admitted to a licensed medical detox.

MARR Addiction Treatment Center - A non-profit treatment facility focused on recovery for chemically dependent individuals through cost-effective and gender-specific treatment programs. The programs focus on mentoring clients in a disciplined, caring and respectful environment, with the intention of lasting physical, mental and spiritual recovery. The treatment takes places in 2 stages; Phase 1 is a 90 day commitment that starts with an intensive day treatment for the first 45 days, while Phase II focuses on a therapeutic community model to establish a balanced lifestyle and balancing sobriety with consistent employment and home responsibilities.
