Cessnock High School welcomed 240 students in Years 5 and 6 for a sport gala day. All local primary schools attended and showed great participation and sportsmanship.

The message for the day was “I like to move it” . Students were taught the importance of regular physical activity to prevent lifestyle diseases and achieving holistic well-being.

Students earned their team points in a tabloid event and also in a soccer round robin competition. All teams had to design a team bandana and earned there teams extra points in bonus round activities including gangnam style, heads and tails and strike pose competitions.

A great day was had by all and the winning teams won a football to take home. A special thanks must go to The College Sport Coaching class and Year 10 PASS class students who helped run the day and to Mrs Troy for organising the BBQ and bandanas.
