Finals Day of the London Youth Games at Lord’s Indoor Cricket Centre on Sunday 1st March. She had previously played with the Richmond team at the Qualifiers

in February in Harrow, where they won 3 of their 4 matches and so qualified to play at Lord’s.

Richmond had a tough quarter-final match against

Ealing, who went on to come 2nd in the competition overall.

Out of a total of 33 London boroughs, Richmond finished in joint 5th position. Well done Abby and the Richmond team!

Helping to write Sokphal Din’s book Sokphal Din was forced out of his home by the Khmer Rouge on 17 April 1975, Sokphal endured hard labour in the Killing Fields and eventually survived the Genocide in Cambodia by escaping to Thai refugee camps where he lived for seven years.

He has visited Turing House twice this academic year to speak to students on both the Hampton and Teddington site about his experiences.

He is now writing a book about his life and would like some students to help him.

Enrichment Week 2 Year 8s “Making the News”

El martes, tres de marzo, cuarenta alumnos fueron en tren a BFI (El Instituto de Cine Británico) en el centro de Londres para participar en actividades relacionadas con películas hispánicas.

En primer lugar, vimos tráileres y los emparejamos con sus títulos. Luego revisamos verbos, adjetivos y descripciones físicas. Por ejemplo, vimos una película llamada ‘Relatos Salvajes’ sobre Gabriel Pasternak – un hombre rencoroso que mata a todos los que odia para la venganza definitiva. Además, vimos una película llamada ‘Latinos vs Trump’ que nos dio una perspectiva diferente de la crisis de la frontera entre México y EEUU.

Finalmente, por la tarde vimos una película llamada ‘Campeones’ sobre un equipo de baloncesto formado por personas discapacitadas.
