2019/2020 Group Race Calendar 2019/2020 GROUP RACE CALENDAR Proudly sponsored by Message from Greyhound Clubs Australia It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of Greyhound Clubs Australia, to present the GCA 2019-2020 Group Racing Calendar. The compilation of the Calendar is one of our oganization’s most important tasks and represents the spirit of co- operation by clubs and controlling authorities to put the best interests of the industry above those of their own. The compilation of the Group Racing Calendar is not an easy task with so many events competing for space but a holistic review of the process commenced by delegates of GCA and Greyhounds Australasia in July 2018 will continue to see improvements in the calendar’s stability and effectiveness. Special acknowledgement is made to the Racing committees of GCA and GA who have once again worked diligently to produce this year’s edition. Participants should utilize the printed copy of the Calendar in conjunction with our website that will update any changes to dates and event eligibility conditions that occur during the course of 2019/20. Our site can be found at www.greyhoundclubsaustralia.com.au If you have any suggestions or require assistance in relation to the calendar feel welcome to contact me by email at [email protected] or direct correspondence to David Simonette– GCA PO Box 6 Cannington, WA 6987 David Simonette Greyhound Clubs Australia Executive Officer Front Cover: 2018 GCA National Sprint Champion West On Augie (top and middle) and 2018 GCA National Distance Champion Tornado Tears (bottom) and connections. Disclaimer: Greyhound Clubs Australia has published this Calendar as a service to the Greyhound Industry. At the time of completion, the information was believed to be correct. The Calendar has been published in good faith, but Greyhound Clubs Australia does not accept responsibility for any inaccuracies it may contain. Persons considering nominating for events promoted in this Calendar are therefore advised to confirm dates and other relevant information with the host organisations. In addition, readers are advised that the eligibility guides printed in this calendar are, due to space restrictions, often summarised in abbreviated form and are also subject to possible alteration. Again, further enquiries with hosting organisations is advised and recommended. 2 3 Group Racing Greyhound of the Year and Associated Awards AUSTRALIAN HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES - GCA ANNUAL AWARDS GCA AUSTRALIAN GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR GCA AUSTRALIAN STUD DOG OF THE YEAR YEAR GREYHOUND YEAR GREYHOUND YEAR STUD DOG YEAR STUD DOG 2002 BOOMEROO 2011 DYNA TRON 2007 TOKEN PRINCE AND 2011 COLLISION 2003 BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ 2012 MIATA BRETT LEE 2012 BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ 2004 WHISKY ASSASSIN 2013 MIATA (JOINT WINNERS) 2013 BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ 2005 PURE OCTANE 2014 XYLIA ALLEN 2008 BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ 2014 WHERE’S PEDRO 2006 BETTY’S ANGEL 2015 FERNANDO BALE AND TOKEN PRINCE 2015 BEKIM BALE 2007 FLASHING FLOODS 2016 DYNA DOUBLE ONE (JOINT WINNERS) 2016 KINLOCH BRAE 2008 EL GALO 2017 FANTA BALE 2009 BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ 2017 BARCIA BALE 2009 CINDEEN SHELBY 2018 FANTA BALE 2010 SURF LORIAN 2018 BARCIA BALE 2010 EL GRAND SENOR GCA AUSTRALIAN BROOD BITCH OF THE YEAR GCA AUSTRALIAN TRAINER OF THE YEAR YEAR BROOD BITCH YEAR BROOD BITCH YEAR TRAINER YEAR TRAINER 2007 FLOOD FAWN 2013 IT’S A SHE 2008 CHINATOWN BABE 2014 TAYAH BALE 2007 JASON THOMPSON 2013 GRAEME BATE 2009 THAI AGAIN 2015 MAPLE BALE 2008 REG KAY 2014 DARREN MCDONALD 2010 ROSEMARY BALE 2016 CHLOE ALLEN 2009 GRAEME BATE 2015 ANDREA DAILLY 2011 ABBADALE GOLD 2017 UCME TYPHOON 2010 DARREN MCDONALD 2016 ANTHONY AZZOPARDI 2012 WINSOME BLUEBIRD 2018 ASTON ELLE 2011 GRAEME BATE 2017 ROBERT BRITTON 2012 JASON THOMPSON 2018 TONY BRETT GCA RUN OF THE YEAR YEAR RUN OF THE YEAR YEAR RUN OF THE YEAR 2007 MISS GRUB 2013 XYLIA ALLEN 2008 CHINATOWN LAD 2014 SWEET IT IS 2009 TURANZA BALE 2015 FERNANDO BALE 2010 SATANIC CASH 2016 BOURBSKI FEVER 2011 HE KNOWS UNO 2017 BURN ONE DOWN 2012 BIZARRE BARBIE 2018 ROCKOON AUSTRALIAN HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES GREYHOUNDS BASED ON RACING FEMALE GREYHOUND BASED ON BREEDING ADMINISTRATORS PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE YEAR OF YEAR OF YEAR OF INDUCTION RECIPIENT INDUCTION GREYHOUND INDUCTION GREYHOUND 2008 ARTHUR MORGAN 1999 TENTHILL DOLL 2008 OSTI TOO 2008 ROY MAIDMENT 1999 FLYING AMY 2009 WEE SAL 2008 HOWARD ASHTON 1999 RAPID JOURNEY 2018 FRANCIS COLLEEN 2009 J.G.(JACK) NELSON 1999 HIGHLY BLESSED 2009 VIC PETERS TRAINERS 2000 CHIEF HAVOC 2009 HENRY HARRISON 2000 ZOOM TOP YEAR OF 2010 BRIAN JOHNSTONE 2001 MACAREENA INDUCTION RECIPIENT 2010 NOEL BANKS 2001 ROOKIE REBEL 2007 SAM BLADON 2011 ALBERT BUNNY HEWTON 2001 SANDI’S ME MUM 2008 RAY HERBERT 2011 KEN CARR 2002 BRETT LEE 2008 JIM COLEMAN 2013 RAY FOLEY 2002 BOLD TREASE 2009 NED BRYANT 2018 RON NESTOR 2003 NATIONAL LASS 2009 STAN CLEVERLEY ASSOCIATES 2003 WINIFRED BALE 2010 VIVIAN JAMES BERESFORD 2004 LIZRENE 2010 DOUG PAYNE YEAR OF 2005 BOGIE LEIGH 2011 PAUL CAUCHI INDUCTION RECIPIENT 2006 TEMLEE 2011 TONY ZAMMIT 2008 BILL PEARSON 2006 BLACK TOP 2008 PAUL AMBROSOLI 2007 PAUA TO BURN BREEDERS 2009 DR JIM GANNON 2016 MIATA YEAR OF 2009 FRANK KENNEDY MALE GREYHOUND BASED ON BREEDING INDUCTION RECIPIENT 2011 DR JOHN MURRAY PERFORMANCE 2008 ROD DEAKIN 2015 GEORGE SCHOFIELD YEAR OF 2008 ALLEN WHEELER INDUCTION GREYHOUND 2016 PAUL WHEELER 2008 TEMLEE 2009 BLACK TOP 2013 BYAMEE / BROTHER FOX 2014 TELL YOU WHY 2016 TUMBLE BUG 3 22019/20019/20 GroupGroup 11 EventsEvents Brisbane GRC MGRA The Meadows Brisbane Cup 520m The Topgun 525m July 4 (Heats June 27) November 9 Best 64 greyhounds nominated plus reserves.
