NBA 2K Team Manager Wizards District Gaming Washington, DC NBA 2K Team Manager Wizards District Gaming Washington, DC Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), located in Washington, D.C., is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. MSE owns and operates five professional sports teams: the AFL’s Baltimore Brigade and Washington Valor, NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals and WNBA’s Washington Mystics. The company just recently purchased an NBA G League development league team, is co-owner of aXiomatic, which has controlling interest in global esports franchise Team Liquid, is one of the initial 17 NBA teams to purchase a 2k league franchise, and owns and operates Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Monumental Sports & Entertainment also manages Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the state-of-the-art training facility for the Capitals and EagleBank Arena on George Mason University’s campus. In 2018, Monumental Sports & Entertainment will bring the Mystics and the G League team to a new state-of-the-art Entertainment and Sports Arena being built by Washington, D.C. and Events DC at the St. Elizabeth’s campus in Ward 8. The Wizards will also practice there. Monumental Sports & Entertainment co-owns and operates Monumental Sports Network with the NBC Sports Group. Monumental Sports Network is the mid-Atlantic region’s top direct-to-consumer destination for exclusive fan experiences and original sports content across desktop, tablet, mobile and OTT streaming devices. Position Overview: Develop, manage, coach and support an NBA 2k team on all strategies, communication, coordination and logistics to execute competitive gameplay, specific training regimens and a cohesive gaming team in a productive, fun and healthy environment. Responsibilities: • Manage team house environment to ensure players have an optimal living environment. • Facilitate communication between members of the NBA 2k team in a productive and effective manner. • Manage scrimmage schedule for team, including evaluation of opponents and strategy implementation. • Develop an assessment for players and track player progress, including physical, spiritual, and mental growth. • Ensure players arrive on time to all scheduled events, including transportation, practice, and sponsor activities. • Establish pre-game routine with team to ensure top performance during matches. • Willingness to be on call as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree. • Previous experience with coaching and/or team building (traditional sports/esports experience highly preferred). • Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. • A familiarity with the NBA 2k franchise. • Located in or willing to relocate to the D.C. area for the season. • Positive approach to conflict resolution and facilitating effective player communication. • Desire to lead a championship winning team. The Seattle Storm won the 2018 Women’s National Basketball Association title by sweeping the Washington Mystics on September 12, 2018. This makes the Seattle Storm three-time WNBA Champions. In its proclamation, the City is asking residents to observe this day with celebrations. The Seattle Storm has been an exceptional community partner to the residents of the City of SeaTac since 2013. For the past five years, the team has held community practices in the City to promote youth activity. The most recent practice was held at the Seattle Christian High School on July 12, 2018. On Sunday September 16 beginning at 1:00 PM, a parade will be held in Seattle to honor the WNBA National Championship Team.
