Fife pitched a gem, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits through 7.0 innings in which he walked one and fanned At Home .....................................46-23 three. Albuquerque wasted no time giving its starter run support as Bobby Abreu coaxed a one-out walk in the bottom of the first and On the Road ...............................32-40 scored when Josh Fields hammered a triple to deep right field, putting the ‘Topes up 1-0. Fields then raced home on a sac-fly from Day ...............................................11-8 Jerry Sands, narrowly avoiding the tag at the plate to extend the advantage 2-0. The Isotopes erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second, sending 12 batters to the plate through the inning. Matt Angle sparked the onslaught with a ground rule double and scored Night ..........................................67-55 one batter later on a single from Tony Gwynn Jr., making it 3-0. Ozzie Martinez followed with a base hit of his own, and after an errant Last 5 games ..................................1-4 pickoff attempt allowed both runners to advance a bag, Elian Herrera flared a two-run single to right, widening the lead 5-0. After a Last 10 games ................................3-7 walk and a base hit loaded the bases, Scott Van Slyke gave Albuquerque a 7-0 edge with a two-run double. Following a Storm Chasers Streak ........................................... After vs. LH starters ............................31-17 Omaha finally found the scoreboard with a run in the fourth, the visitors added another tally in the sixth on a solo shot from Clint vs. RH starters ............................47-46 Robinson, cutting the deficit 9-2, but the ‘Topes quickly erased the run with two of their own in the seventh. It helps that Savage is currently pitching August ........................................14-16 some of his best baseball, posting a 1.50 ERA (3 ER / 18.0 IP) over his last three starts. His last outing typifies the kind of luck the September ......................................0-0 right-hander has had of late, as Savage tossed 6.0 scoreless innings against Oklahoma City, scattering seven hits and walking one but nevertheless wound up with a no-decision after the RedHawks scored four in the seventh and two more in the eighth to take a 6-1 vic- PROMOTIONS tory. LOS ANGELES DODGERS CLIPS THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 2012 YAHOO! SPORTS Dodgers' Josh Lindblom follows 'obsession of serving' to L.A.'s Skid Row, food and faith in hand By Tim Brown LOS ANGELES – On the corner of 6th and Crocker in downtown Los Angeles, in a neighborhood the politicians call Central City East but the residents know as Skid Row, the backs of our throats were coated in disinfectant vapors. These came from the tanker trucks inching along the curb, and the hoses waved by men in hazmat suits whose task it was to wash away the needles, condoms, human waste and whatever else had fallen into the gutter over so many cold, desperate nights. The denizens of those gutters stood nearby. They seemed unmoved by the city's effort to power‐spray and freshen their stained and weary corner. They held sacks and backpacks and watched the plodding truck, its guardians and rubbery tentacles. They leaned against shopping carts whose contents – blankets, recyclable bottles and clothes, but hardly any food – were piled to overhead. The odor and taste of the decontaminant, and whatever it was that was building in the backs of throats, they couldn't bother with that. Dodgers reliever Josh Lindblom speaks with Charles, a St. Louis native living temporarily in a nearby shelter. …By last count, more than 4,000 people lived on Skid Row's streets, hidden in its alleys, leaning against its tired buildings, in a 4‐ by‐10 foot block plot. On a morning in mid‐June, maybe a couple dozen were on the corner of 6th and Crocker, watching the truck and waiting on the vans that would roll down from a hilltop in nearby Echo Park, bringing hot food, fresh fruit and water.

International League News & Notes August 31, 2006 BUFFALO BISONS BISONS TAKE THRUWAY SERIES CAP: With their 6-2 win over Rochester last night, the Bisons clinched the 2006 Thruway Series Cup Championship. Each year since the Herd rejoined the International League in 1998, they have competed with their closest rivals, the Rochester Red Wings and Syracuse SkyChiefs, for a series championship that is named after the expressway that connects them all. This year, the Bisons went 11-5 against the SkyChiefs and already have an 8-5 record against the Red Wings. The championship is Buffalo’s fifth in nine years, also taking the cup in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. ALL-STAR HONORS: Outfielder Jason Dubois was named to the post-season International League All-Star team on Monday. The slugger is closing in on a Bisons’ triple crown as he ranks first on the team with 21 home runs (T-7th in IL) and 83 RBI (4th in IL) and is just behind Franklin Gutierrez (.281) for those that qualify with a .276 batting average. Dubois also leads the team with a .489 slugging percentage, is tied for the lead with 52 extra- base hits and is 2 nd with 30 doubles. He would be just the third player to win the team’s triple crown in the modern era, joining Russ Morman in 1993 (.320, 22 HR, 77 RBI) and Benny Distefano in 1988 (.263, 19 HR, 63 RBI). QUEST FOR QUALIFICATION: Pitcher Hyang-Nam Choi has been dominating for the Herd of late, with only one earned run since July 27.

The ceremony honored the lives of those that served their country in the armed forces and made the ultimate sacrifice. Louise Phillips, daughter of the recently- departed Edith Horning, said she was speaking on behalf of her late mother when she said that the ideals she fought for would not be soon for- gotten by future generations.
