In a strange case that emerged last week, owners ofthe Cornerstone Funeral Home are being charged with fraud and indignities to dead human bodies. Allegations include expensive funeral materials being substituted with cheaper ones. With the charges involving indignities to a human body, city police say that a linger was cut off a body to remove a ring. Insp. Colin Catonio said at a press conference last week that there aren't a lot of details yet. "We don't know specific information on the deceased. There were 47 invalid transactions. They were small transactions over a long period of time." Ralph Zenter is being charged with four counts of fraud over $5,000 and two counts of indignities to a dead human body or human remains. His wife, Faith, faces two counts of fraud over $5,000 and an indignity to a dead human body or human remains. The Zenters have released a statement denying the allegations. The police investigation dates back five years. I started roller-skating about three months ago. Kind of. I guess it really started way back in my single-digits, when every other birthday party was at Lloyd's roller rink in Calgary. I remember disco dancing to funky tracks from Much Dance Mix 90s albums, dressed in neon 80s get-ups and thinking we were the coolest people in the world.
