PURPOSE STATEMENT ALS Lifeguards shall take all measures necessary (proactive and reactive) to prevent loss of life by and/or injury to the public. The Lifeguard is required to supervise the environment and ensure the highest standard of public supervision and safety is guaranteed at all times. Lifeguards are to liaise and communicate in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of the ALS, Council, other contracted regulatory bodies and Surf Life Saving.

 Relevant Awards including (current):  Relevant (current) SLS Awards: o SLSA Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public o Certificate III in Public Safety Aquatic Safety (Aquatic Rescue) Search & Rescue o HLTAID003 – Provide o Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue o HLTAID007 – Provide Advanced o Pain Management Resuscitation Techniques o SM Advanced First Aid o Silver Medallion Beach Management o RWC Drivers (including components PUATAE002B, o SM IRB Driver PUAOPE027A, BSBFLM312C) o IRB Crew o Gold Medallion  Demonstrate an ability to operate  Successfully complete ALS Lifeguard Fitness SLSNSW radio network. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Lifeguard will work internally with the Lifeguard Supervisor and their assigned Lifeguard Coordinator. Lifeguards will be expected to participate in meetings and communicate to all parties in both a written and verbal manner. External relationships with Councils, SLS Clubs and other regulatory bodies are of prime importance to the ALS.
