A healthy heartbeat is our favorite song.

NOTHING SOUNDS BETTER THAN A HEALTHY HEART. But when a heart develops an arrhythmia, causing it to beat too weakly, too fast or just irregularly, it can cause more than

discord. It can endanger your life. That’s why the electrophysiologists at the Stony Brook Heart

Rhythm Center use the most advanced 3D mapping technology to locate the precise heart

tissue causing the problem. So our team can perform accurate ablation procedures on even the most complex arrhythmias. And your heart can sound like music to your ears. CALL:631-80 3 -6630 email: [email protected]

It was 1950 when our first production, Centennial Anniversary Taming of the Shrew was presented in the Barn Theater - with my grandfather producing and my mom playing the role of Bianca. Many shows followed, including a production of A Streetcar Named Desire, where she and my dad met backstage one magical night. Eventually they were married and her greatest productions (as she liked to call them) came to fruition - my sister and I were born! My mom’s stage appearances continued, but soon my sister took the spotlight, teaching and taking on many supporting and starring roles. After a leave of absence and a casting career in LA, Robin settled into her role here as Artistic and Acting School Director.

I honor the memory and guidance of my grandparents, mom, dad, and sister as HONORING the Past. CELEBRATING the Present. ENVISIONING the Future. we continue our 67th season with Ain’t Misbehavin’.

Along with Director/Choreographer Gerry McIntyre, we’ve put together an inspired creative team, technical staff and department heads, who spend countless hours bringing the production elements to the stage, show after show. Our full time administrative, education, and box office staff keep things going year round, and the whole operation is under the leadership and governance of our dedicated Board of Directors. I am proud to be part of such an incredible team.

Finally, I want to acknowledge all of our loyal patrons, supporters, and partners. When St. Joseph’s College first opened its doors a century ago, a dozen students enrolled. We are here for you, and without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you Now, with an alumni network that exceeds 33,000 worldwide, St. Joseph’s is a nationally for allowing us to flourish and grow for over 66 years. Together we can make recognized institution with three convenient campuses — SJC Long Island, SJC Brooklyn 2016 our best season yet! and SJC Online.

Colson In the words of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, “There’s no place like home.” And indeed, there’s no place quite like the home veteran Broadway director David Ruttura made for himself at Gateway Playhouse at the very start of his professional career. Mr. Ruttura started out at Gateway after his freshman year of college. He was hired as a sub Flyman for a production of , and ended up staying through the rest of the summer and working various jobs backstage. That was just the beginning of his journey at Gateway. Every summer for the next five or six years, he continued to come back to Gateway and work in different capacities. From props master, to crew chief, to assistant stage manager, he worked it all. Finally, he began to direct the children’s theater productions and ended up working with Robin Joy Allan as the Associate Artistic Director. The years were full and could at times be hectic, but Mr. Ruttura loved every minute of it. After leaving Gateway, he went on to be the Associate Director for Walter Bobbie and Des McAnuff, which ultimately led him to his role as Assistant and Associate Director on Broadway. Mr. Ruttura worked as the Assistant Director for A Man for All Seasons, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Million Dollar Quartet, and is currently the Associate Director for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock.

• Many now famous actors started out in Gateway’s acting school including Robert Duvall, Gene Hackman, Ulu Grossbard, Michael Gazzo, Ken Howard, and Julia Migenes-Johnson. • “Learning by doing,” was the primary motto, and students were the primary performers, directors, and technicians. They resided on the Gateway property, took classes in the morning, rehearsed and built scenery and costumes during the afternoon and performed during the evening. • The Barn Theatre, and consequently the Original Gateway Playhouse, is still in use as a classroom for students today! • Gateway’s acting school has a new name and is under new direction! It is now The Gateway: QUALITY AUTO BODY & COLLISION REPAIR School for the Performing Arts and is under the direction of New York actor, Complete Restorations • Detailing • Paintless Dent Removal • Lease Returns • Pin Striping teacher, and Gateway alum Michael Baker!
