Boston College Athletics Advisory Board Annual Report, 2018-19 This Report summarizes for the University community developments related to Boston College’s intercollegiate athletics program and the Athletics Advisory Board’s (AAB) activities during the past academic year. 1. Academic and Athletics Highlights A. ACC Academic Consortium The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sponsored its 14th year of initiatives organized By the ACC Academic Consortium (ACCAC). Boston College students, faculty, and administrators participated in ACCAC events held during both fall and spring semesters. The ACCAC leverages the athletics association and identity of the 15 ACC institutions in order to enrich their educational mission. This spring, the annual Meeting of the Minds conference, designed to showcase undergraduate research at memBer institutions, was held at the University of Louisville on March 29-31. Over 70 students from across the ACC, including four from Boston College, presented their work during the two-day event. The second annual ACC-Smithsonian ACCelerate Festival took place in Washington, DC. on April 5-7. Visitors to the Festival interacted with innovators and experienced new interdisciplinary technologies developed to address gloBal challenges. The event, which was programmed by Virginia Tech, featured 38 interactive installations from across the 15 ACC schools grouped by three thematic areas: exploring place and environment; exploring health, Body, and mind; and exploring culture and the arts. B O S T O N C O L L E G E C L U B S P O R T S C O U N C I L N E W S L E T T E R C L U B S P O R T S F E B R U A R Y 2 0 1 3 WE ARE BC FIELD HOCKEY This past fall season is certainly one to remember for the girls of the Boston College CluB Field Hockey Team. The 2012 Iield hockey season was the most successful in the cluB’s history, and for that, they are extremely proud. The team’s determination, hard work, and dedication led to a regular season record of 8-2 and post-season play for the Iirst time. This year, they made their very Iirst appearance at the National Fall Championship Tournament in Virginia Beach, VA over the weekend of November 17th – 18th. They Became QuarterIinal Iinishers and ranked #6 out of 86 teams in the National Field Hockey League. This is the greatest accomplishment that BC CluB Field Hockey has achieved to date. The team hopes and plans to return to Nationals in subsequent years By maintaining the same level of commitment and caliBer of play that they demonstrated this past season. It was possiBly the Iirst night of practice with the full team in September when they realiZed that something aBout this year was going to Be different. Everyone, especially the Iive new players (three freshmen and two sophomores), Brought so much energy and skill to the Iield that made playing together as a team incrediBly natural and exceptionally fun. -

Executive Summary Sporting KC is an American professional soccer club based in the greater Kansas City metro area with the actual matches played at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Beginning in 2017, the club will sell tickets through SeatGeek, an online ticket platform as its primary ticketing distributor. Jake Reid, Sporting KC’s President, sees this relationship as the next generation of online ticket sales. As the popularity of professional soccer expands, Millennials will become the largest demographic segment of sports fans. Moreover, as consumers increasingly make purchases in a digital -- largely mobile -- environment, Sporting KC expects the SeatGeek relationship to be a strategic partnership for growth and profitability for both entities. Now, the challenge is for you, as Sporting KC’s marketing team, to take advantage of SeatGeek’s – and the team’s – strengths and to ride the momentum of positive trends.
