Emile Durkheim, James Frazer, Bronislaw Malinowski and Carl Jung are the few names that have contributed immensely to the study of the role of religion in shaping the belief systems of people in a given society. In different social context the definition and the significance of religion have varied. Nevertheless religion as a system of belief has always been an important social institution. However science and rationality are often considered polar opposite of a few of these belief systems and faith in the modern society. The rising visibility of incidences of witchcraft and ‘black magic’ in the North Easternstates of India as well as other societies has posed a challenge in bringing social order and spreading modern education and literacy. The current discussion is a narrative of certain practices such as magic, witchcraft, faith healing and counseling in religious tenets that are followed by the people during crisis. The paper tries to look at these practices from a socio- psychological approach. Walking back to the baseline to prepare to receive serve, Djokovic heard the umpire announce the point in his favor and immediately corrected the chair. Djokovic explained that Tsonga’s shot had nicked his racquet. Even on replays, it was practically impossible to see the contact. But Djokovic knew; he conceded the point. A couple months later, Djokovic found himself on the other side of doing the right thing when Andy Murray protested a time violation warning that had been issued to Djokovic in the final of the Madrid Masters. Djokovic was serving at 30-all, 4-2 in the deciding set when the chair ruled he was taking too long to serve. Murray marched over to the chair. “I’m the one [who] was keeping him waiting,” Murray said. “He was at the line about five seconds before me.” In both cases, there was discussion of how unusual it all was. Received 08 November 2020; Revised 03 March 2021; Accepted 18 March 2021; Published 27 April 2021 Abstract Objectives: This research attempts to figure out a comparative pattern of the social response from the peoples of Bangladesh as well as different communities and regarding actions taken by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh. Else, this study also investigates the shortcomings of the different wing authorities of the Bangladesh Government to reach people of every corner of this country. Methods: In this research, different facts are analyzed from a statistical point of view. Authentic sources like reputed national and international newspapers, governmental release documents, release notes of WHO, etc. were considered for data collection to realize this country’s preparations against the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: From the statistical analysis, this study found that different government authorities partially failed to communicate the measures of the government to the wider public audience. This study has shown that having more tests could have prevented the spread of the virus in Bangladesh. The strong lockdown measures taken by the government were not enough as the population of this country is huge and it is really difficult to maintain social distance in a densely populated country like Bangladesh.
