President PRINOTH AG PRINOTHWORLD 2018 — PAGE 03 | 04 PREFACE INNOVATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL The question is why we, as a private company, are focusing on innovation. Companies are engaged in an unrelenting fight to gain an edge over competitors. We have to prove ourselves constantly and convince our customers again and again. Innovation and internationalization are the key to being successful in this ever-shrinking world, which is turning ever faster. We have to adapt so that we can anticipate trends and be successful in the future. But repeatedly setting sails into the unknown takes courage. It takes courage to develop and focus on new products, open up new markets and invest in them. The many upcoming changes such as automation, digitization, industry 4.0, self-driving vehicles - to name just a few buzzwords or trends - can undoubtedly lead to a feeling of anxiety. But these new condi- tions also offer opportunities if you recognize them as such and are flexible enough to adapt to and make the most of them. However, this adaptability, which is necessary to survive in the long term, must be matched by healthy and sustainable ethics. Anton Seeber President LEITNER Group PRINOTHWORLD 2018 — PAGE 05 | 06 WORLD CUP 50 YEARS OF SKI WORLD CUP IN VAL GARDENA PRINOTH POWER FOR WORLD CHAMPIONS In 2017, the Val Gardena World Cup celebrated its 50th anniversary with a fabulous party. PRINOTH, as a partner of the first hour, couldn’t miss the event. The Val Gardena World Cup, together with PRINOTH, has contributed significantly to the growth of skiing in the Dolomites. Val Gardena is a place steeped in winter sports history: the Alpine Ski World Cup was founded in 1967 and the first downhill ski race on the breathtaking Saslong slope was held on February 14, 1969 - whilst Ernst Prinoth built his first snow groomer in 1962. The Saslong, with the notorious key stages Camel Humps, Sochers jumps, and Ciaslat Meadow, has become legendary and not only because it is extremely demanding on the athletes’ technical and sporting skills! It is also one of the most popular downhill runs in Italy. The first downhill in 1969 was followed by 54 more and 16 Super-Gs, as well as some combined and technical runs. PRINOTH has always been there to help skiers make their way to the finish line. For the FIS Downhill and Super-G competitions, a large celebration program honored the history of the world-famous Saslong, full of all the anecdotes, surprises and ski wonders it has seen. The highlight of the 50th anniversary celebration was a big show on Friday, December 15, 2017, to which PRINOTH snow groomers made their big (TV) appearance. PRINOTHWORLD 2018 — PAGE 09 | 10 PRINOTH HISTORY Even if some might think that the devil has his finger in the pie - don‘t worry: we haven‘t sold our soul. THE HISTORY OF PRINOTH: The beginnings of PRINOTH are rooted in Val Gardena where the racing driver Ernst Prinoth opened a car repair shop in 1951. Ernst Prinoth was an inventor - always looking for ways DEVILISHLY GOOD to make “good” better. Fascinated by fast engines and technical innovations, as well as a passionate skier at the same time, he started developing his first snow groomers. QUALITY FROM A PERFECT BLEND OF TRADITION AND INNOVATION Vision, foresight and a passion for technology - these are the ingredients for the success that PRINOTH has enjoyed over the decades. As part of the LEITNER Group, our company, which is SOUTH TYROL TAKEN steeped in tradition and continued to grow and become what it is today - half a century later: THE synonym for vehicles on tracks of the highest quality. Meanwhile, PRINOTH has become a global player that is firmly rooted in its Tyrolean homeland and culture. In the midst of the AROUND THE WORLD mountains and in the heart of winter sports, young sports enthusiasts meet today as they did in the past to continue paving the way for skiing. What is new, however, is that nowadays, we are in communication with colleagues and partners all over the world. Time and space sets South Tyrol is not only a famous dream destination for tourists - the region is also no limits to the PRINOTH spirit! known worldwide as a flourishing business and innovation hub with one of the highest rates of entrepreneurship in Europe. Johnsen Company of Portland. Despite these early glimmers of skiing awareness, when the sport began its ascendancy to popularity in the 1930s, the state’s likeliest venues were more distant, and public land ownership less widespread, than was the case in the neighboring states of New Hampshire and Vermont, and ski area development in those states was consequently greater.

Received: 17 August 2020; Accepted: 15 December 2020; Published: 18 December 2020 Abstract: Climate change affects snowpack properties indirectly through the greater need for artificial snow production for ski centers. The seasonal snowpacks at five ski centers in Central Slovakia were examined over the course of three winter seasons to identify and compare the seasonal development and inter-seasonal and spatial variability of depth average snow density of ski piste snow and uncompacted natural snow. The spatial variability in the ski piste snow density was analyzed in relation to the snow depth and snow lances at the Košútka ski center using GIS. A special snow tube for high-density snowpack sampling was developed (named the MM snow tube) and tested against the commonly used VS-43 snow tube. Measurements showed that the MM snow tube was constructed appropriately and had comparable precision. Significant differences in mean snow density were identified for the studied snow types.
