The 2021 season will be highlighted by the opening of the newly renovated Blue Course. This unique opportunity will allow students to get firsthand experience at one of the most storied clubs in the country and maintaining the areas around the largest clubhouse in the country. Located in Bethesda, MD, Congressional Country Club is the #1 Platinum Club in the country. Congressional has a long history of hosting Championships, host to three tournaments in the last decade alone, including the U.S. Open Championship in 2011 followed by two Quicken Loans National Tournaments. Congressional is proud to continue this history with the announcement of eight more Championships in the next seventeen years as follows: 2022 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship 2024 Junior PGA Championship 2025 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship 2027 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship 2029 PGA Professional Championship 2031 PGA Championship 2033 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship 2037 Ryder Cup Job Description: Interns will be involved in the daily maintenance and upkeep of the clubhouse grounds and will work closely with the Clubhouse Grounds Superintendent in floriculture, arboriculture, and hardscape maintenance. Interns will learn fertilizer/pesticide calibration as well as proper application practices to plants. Daily jobs will include but are not limited to irrigation repair, disease identification, water management, push mowing and string trimming. Congressional Country Club prides itself on a positive learning experience for all interns of various skill levels. PGA of America to Conduct 2021 PGA Championship on The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (May 1, 2015) – The PGA of America announced today that it will conduct the 2021 PGA Championship on The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The 103rd edition of the Championship in August 2021 returns to the renowned Pete Dye-designed oceanfront layout in South Carolina after its first visit in 2012, when Rory McIlroy captured the Wanamaker Trophy by a record-setting margin. The Ocean Course is one of four venues to host each of the PGA of America’s major championships – the Ryder Cup (1991), the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid (2007) and the PGA Championship. The Ocean Course also hosted the 2005 PGA Professional National Championship. “Ever since The Ocean Course was introduced to the world, it has been a supreme test for the greatest players in golf,” said PGA of America President Derek Sprague. “From a down-to-the-last putt thriller of a Ryder Cup in 1991 to Rory McIlroy closing a record-setting performance in the 2012 PGA Championship, there has never been a shortage of thrills on The Ocean Course. We anticipate that tradition of excellence continuing in 2021 at the PGA Championship.” The PGA Championship also is the only one of golf’s four majors to be hosted in South Carolina. 2020 ENTRY INFORMATION REFER TO THE SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP DATES, DEADLINE DATES, SITES & ENTRY FEES DOCUMENT FOR YOUR SECTION’S SPECIFIC INFORMATION Every applicant (except exempt applicants) must go through a two-stage process as follows to compete in the Senior PGA Professional Championship: 1. Enter and compete in your Section Senior PGA Professional Championship. See “Section Championship Dates, Deadline Dates, Sites & Entry Fees” for your Section’s specific information. 2. A pre-determined number of top finishers from each Section, plus exempt players, will then advance to the 2020 Senior PGA Professional Championship scheduled to be played October 15-18, 2020, at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. An additional $50 entry fee will be required to enter the Senior PGA Professional Championship and a separate eligibility deadline must also be met. All members who wish to play in the 2020 Senior PGA Professional Championship, and/or the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship (both of which have an eligibility deadline that must be met), must first enter their respective 2020 Section Senior PGA Professional Championship (unless exemption status applies).
