99 Sinclair Drive Muskegon, MI 49441 231.798.4596 [email protected] www.muskegonairport.com February 27, 2017 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MUSKEGON COUNTY AIRPORT RECEIVES PROJECT AWARD OF EXCELLENCE Muskegon County Airport’s Terminal Apron Rehabilitation and Expansion project was selected the winner in the airports category of the Michigan Concrete Association’s 2016 Awards of Excellence. The Airport received the award on February 22 at the Association’s annual award ceremony. “We are very pleased our project was recognized by the Michigan Concrete Association,” said Jeffrey Tripp, Muskegon County Airport Manager. “This project was successful through close coordination in the design and construction phases by the airport’s engineer (Prein & Newhof), prime contractor (Florence Cement Co.), subcontractors, airport staff, and airport tenants.” The Apron project was the final phase of a $3 million program to rehabilitate the parking area used by commercial, cargo, corporate, and general aviation aircraft. Program funding was provided through grants from the FAA Airport Improvement Program (95%), MDOT Aeronautics (2.5%), and 2.5% County funds. The concrete pavement will provide long- term, low-maintenance surface for the highest traffic use area on the airport. The Muskegon project competed against 70 other projects submitted for consideration. The continual maintenance of airport infrastructure is crucial to ensure safe and efficient airport operations in addition to supporting regional economic development. ### About Muskegon County Airport: The Muskegon County Airport (MKG) is the aviation gateway to the West Michigan Lakeshore. Owned and operated by the County of Muskegon, the airport offers a full range of general and commercial aviation services. Leelanau County: Northwestern Regional Airport Commission Airport Governance Advisory Committee Report & Recommendation December 10, 2019 Today’s Discussion • Introduction & Background • Purpose of Committee • Key Research and Findings • Stakeholder Outreach/Input/Feedback • Committee Recommendations 1 Introduction and Background • Strategic Planning – As part of the Airport’s strategic planning process, NRAC performed an initial review of its current governance model last year – To explore the issue further, in December 2018, NRAC created an ad-hoc committee to serve in an advisory capacity on the Airport’s governance model • Airport Governance Advisory Committee (AGAC) – On March 19, 2019 the AGAC was appointed by NRAC with nine total Committee members with 3 representatives each from Grand Traverse County, Leelanau County, and the NRAC 2 Purpose of Committee • Purpose & Goal of the Committee (Per the AGAC’s Bylaws): – Examine whether the governance model for the Cherry Capital Airport should be (1) maintained as is; (2) modified within the framework of the current model; (3) amended to an Authority under Public Act 95 of 2015; or (4) whether to pursue state legislation to enable an authority model tailored specifically to meet the airport’s needs. – If changes are determined needed, to prepare a recommendation and report to the NRAC to present to Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties as to what changes are needed and a recommendation on the necessary documents to accomplish any changes. • Open Meetings and Community Inclusion – 7 committee meetings were held between April 30 to October 29, 2019 – All meetings of the AGAC were announced on the TVC website and open to the public – All meetings included opportunity for public comment – On September 24, 2019 an invitation for public comment was held with more than 60 attendees – All AGAC presentations were posted to the TVC website with the ability to comment via email 3 Key Research and Findings • Airport Governance - History & Background – Airport Established in 1935 by Traverse City – Airport transferred to U.S.

Introduction
INTRODUCTION The Village of Lakeview is a semi-rural community nestled adjacent to Tamarack Lake located in the center of Cato Township in the northwest portion of Montcalm County. The community of Lakeview has maintained a “business as usual” function over the past years and has witnessed very little growth in population and economic development. In light of this lack of growth, eager and energetic Village policymakers felt it was time to take a serious look at the future of Lakeview as a community. In the summer of 1993, Village officials initiated the process to create a Village Master Plan and rewrite its zoning ordinance, establishing a foundation for increasing the community’s economic stability and quality of life. The Village of Lakeview Master Plan is the result of data collection and analysis, field surveys, many meetings and discussions by the Village Planning Commission and Village administration, and citizen input at Planning Commission meetings. During the process, a number of issues were explored pertaining to local development and land use, infrastructure improvement needs and funding, and many other local issues. This effort has results in a set of goals and objectives, policies and recommendations, and resource maps, which are intended as a policy guide for future development in the Village of Lakeview over the next 5 to 10 years. Planning Overview The Municipal Planning Act, Public Act 285 of 1931, as amended, specifically gives Village Planning Commissions the authority to prepare and officially adopt a Master Plan. Although the plan is enabled by Michigan Law, it does not have the force of law or ordinance.
