Directions to the Wellington County Administration Centre from the West Directions to the Wellington County Administration Centre (Human Resources Department) Walking/Drop-off The Human Resources Department can be found at the back of the Administration Centre on 74 Woolwich Street, Guelph. 1. Walk or drive through the alley between the Administration Centre (to the right) and the Sleeman Centre (to the left). You can be dropped off here. 2. Turn right towards the stairs. The first door to the left is the Human Resources Department. Parking The County of Wellington does not have visitor parking spots. There is free two hour parking on Woolwich Street, and on many downtown streets. However, these spots tend to go quickly, so do not rely on finding a free spot. We suggest leaving ample time to find parking. From the West Parkade 1. Park in the West Parkade located on MacDonell Street (left of the Co- operators building and Old Quebec Street Mall entrance). You will get a parking ticket if you park in the East Parkade. 2. Take the stairway exit going towards Quebec Street (Quebec Street Mall). 3. Take the elevator or stairs to the main floor. 4. Walk through the Old Quebec Street Mall and head towards the large staircase on your right (in front of Sports Hall of Fame) and turn left towards the hallway. 5. Go through the second pair of blue double doors (these lead outside). 6. At this point you will see the County Administration Building in front of you. The first door you will come to on the right hand side at the bottom of the stairs will be the Human Resources Department. From Baker Street Parking Lot 1. Walk to the back of the parking lot towards the social services building (refer to the map). 2. Head right towards the BMO bank walk through with the The Walkway or towards Quebec Street. 3. Turn Left and walk towards the Old Quebec Street Mall. 4. Walk through the Quebec Street Mall towards the end until you reach the Sports Hall of Fame. 5. Take the hallway to the left of the stairs and go through the second pair of blue double doors (these lead outside). 6. At this point you will see the County Administration Building in front of you. The first door you will come to on the right hand side at the bottom of the stairs will be the Human Resources Department. Busing 1. If you come off from the Guelph Central Station, turn left, walk towards the West Parkade and go through the Old Quebec Street Mall entrance. 2. At the end of the hall turn right towards the stairs and Sports Hall of Fame. 3. Take the hallway to the left of the stairs and go through the second pair of blue double doors (these lead outside). 4. At this point you will see the County Administration Building in front of you. • This Friday: Kindness Spread on a Mass Scale Around Guelph
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE This Friday: Kindness spread on a mass scale around Guelph “How do we change the world? One random act of kindness at a time” – Morgan Freeman Schools, adults, community groups, organizations of all shapes and sizes will be demonstrating what kindness means to them this Friday November 6th throughout the Guelph community. If you find yourself on the streets of Guelph this Friday, you will no doubt encounter a kindness act in the making. From The Letter M’s free breakfast table downtown, to a free Guelph Mercury newspaper when you ride the bus, to free hugs and hot chocolate at The University of Guelph. You may be strolling along Cork Street and help yourself to a lollipop because kindness truly is sweet. Kindness may take the form of a coffee paid for you by a stranger. You may see kindness in the appreciation from a co-worker. Maybe a door will be held open for you; you may receive a phone call from an old friend. Perhaps you will notice oversized sticky notes on the street corner with kindness quotes that encourage you to act out in kindness toward someone else. If you were a fly on the wall in one of our schools, you would see students exchanging “pay it forward” kindness cards, collecting food for donation, reading books about kindness, listen to morning announcements that encourage students to include kindness in their day, and see lesson plans based around the kindness character trait. Stay tuned on social media all day Friday, where the community will be “caught in the act of kindness” and where we will be sharing kindness stories through images, video, and inspiring words – and we’ll continue to share the kindness throughout the month of November.
