The son of a Dutch mother and an Italian father also met his wife in South Korea. Youth National Team coach in Germany Pezzaiuoli returned to Germany within the year 2006. After a short spell as coach of Eintracht Trier, he completed the German Fußballehrerlizenz (highest national coaching license) and was approached by the German Football Federation DFB. Between the years 2007 until 2010, Pezzaiuoli coached the U15, U16, U17 and U18 and managed to win the U17 Euro 2009 unbeaten. Hoffenheim In 2010, Pezzauoli was approached by head coach Ralf Rangnick and decided to take the job of assistant manager for the German Bundesliga club. When Rangnick resigned, Pezzaiuoli became the head coach of Hoffenheim where he coached until 2011.
