Denne spesialutgivelsen blir tilgjengelig i tre formater: en boks med tre CDer; en "standard edition" boks med tre LPer på gullfarget vinyl som inkluderer et booklet-hefte; og en "super deluxe edition" boks med tre LPer på gjennomsiktig vinyl som inkluderer en innbundet bok. Han har laget en nytolkning av artworken han lagde for tretti år siden, men har sørget for å beholde Simon Larbalestiers ikoniske fotografi som midtpunkt. "Surfer Rosa" er en plate som består av sinne, religion, gørr, incest og superhelter ved navn Tony – et debutalbum så bra at det siden har blitt stemplet som et mesterverk. Platen ble produsert av Steve Albini, og spilt inn i desember 1987 i Q Division i Boston. Den inkluderer tidlige Pixies -klassikere som "Bone Machine", "Gigantic", "Vamos" og "Where Is My Mind?". "Come On Pilgrim" bestod av åtte låter fra bandets første studio session noensinne, produsert av Gary Smith og spilt inn i hans Fort Apache Studio nær Boston. Jubileumspakken inneholder også "Live From The Fallout Shelter", en konsert / session som gikk på lufta i 1986 på WJUL-FM i Lowell, Massachusetts. Bandet spilte inn et nytt mesterverk i 1989, "Doolittle", men det er den grusomme herligheten "Surfer Rosa", og den ruinerte seksualiteten avbildet på omslaget (en toppløs Flamenco-danserinne i en falleferdig meksikansk bar), som satt en frisk standard for indie-rock, og ikke bare plantet frøene for grunge-sjangeren (Kurt Cobain har visstnok innrømmet at han forsøkte å imitere platen da han skrev "Nevermind"), men også en stor del av den beste rocke-musikken som har blitt laget siden. For å feire denne milepælen, skal Pixies fremføre både "Come On Pilgrim" og "Surfer Rosa" fra start til slutt på fem utsolgte intimkonserter på Roundhouse i London i oktober.
