Magic Songs Task Guidelines

Note: Please be honest while judging the task, spammers will be banned.

In this task, you have to tell whether the query displayed belongs to Magic Songs segment or not.

A Query belongs to Magic Songs segment if it is looking for song/song-lyrics with the help of lyrics of the song instead of ONLY the title and/or artist of the song. Lyrics may contain the title of the song as song-titles are part of the lyrics most of the times, but it should be clear that user is using lyrics to identify the song.

For example, the query {I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire} is looking to find Katy Perry song – Roar from the lyrics of the song. Thus, this query should be classified as Magic Songs Query and query {lady gaga poker face}, looking for Lady Gaga’s song “Poker Face”, is trying to identify the song with the help of the title and artist of the song hence it is NOT a Magic Songs Query.

Another example for the Magic Songs Query would be the query {Lyrics I think I did it again I made you believe we're more than just friends} which is looking for lyrics of Britney Spears Song “Oops I Did It Again” released in 2000.

Lyrics that are misspelled, out of order, or punctuated incorrectly may be part of the Magic Songs segment if you believe the intent is still clear.

For a given query to be classified for “Magic Songs segment”, the following are the alternatives.

1. Yes: Choose this option if the query is looking for song/lyrics with the help of lyrics of the song. The query should not be containing ONLY the title/artist of the song, but it is OK if query contains title/artist of the song if it also contains some part of lyrics of the song.

For example, the query {Groove, slam, work it back lyrics} is a Magic Songs query which is looking for lyrics of Lady Gaga song, Starstruck.

More examples:  If you want me, a cherry on top The pick of the pack  I left my head and my heart on the dance floor  Lyrics how'd I turn my shirt inside out? No: Choose this option if the query is NOT looking for the song with the help of lyrics of the song. (Remember: Queries which directly contain ONLY the title and/or artist of the songs are not really the Magic Songs Query even if they contain the word “lyrics”). Queries like {lucky by britney spears}, {lady gaga bad romance lyrics} fall in this category because they contain the title of the song and the artist. Obviously, any query which is not at all related to songs is also NOT Magic Songs Query. For e.g. {is fox news for real}.

Note: Adult queries and queries with child intent are to be filtered out. Please select “No” option for such queries.
