Steve Augeri
STEVE AUGERI Steve Augeri is an American rock singer best known for his work with Tall Stories, Tyketto, and Journey.[1] Career Drawing from a range of diverse musical influences to deliver a unique and personal take on the genre of melodic rock, Steve Augeri is an American rock singer best known as the lead vocalist for the rock group Journey from 1998 to 2006. Augeri recorded three albums during a successful eight-year tenure with the group that brought one of the world’s most accomplished rock groups back to the stage to perform for their millions of fans worldwide. He attributes his love and inspiration of music to his father, Joseph, and their many years of listening to Sinatra, R&B, Soul, and Country music on their Emerson clock radio. His grammar school music teacher, Fredrick Torregrossa, also had a direct influence by encouraging Augeri to develop and improve upon the potential of his voice and by casting him to sing Puccini’s "La Donna Mobile" in the school’s 4th grade musical. Initially studying woodwinds at New York City’s High School of Music and Art, Augeri switched to bassoon and soon discovered his love for classical music.[3] Attending, and then teaching at, French Woods Festival for the Performing Arts summer camp, he supervised children from ages 6–16 for their Rock Band classes which as he states, was surely the original “School of Rock.” When Augeri’s tuition check for college bounced, he returned home to start a rock and roll band. Working as a session vocalist, as well as bartending and waiting tables, it was not until 1984 when Augeri received his first break and was hired as background vocalist for one of the world’s most renowned hard rock guitarists, Michael Schenker of UFO and Scorpions fame. -

That said, these one deserves the attention, well worth checking out. Other great rock websites! Europe is a band that has yet to really break through to America and win American hearts over, but http://www.classicrockrevisited.com it’s not for lack of trying. They are probably best known for their album, ‘The Final Countdown’ back in 1986/7. They have http://www.melodicrock.com tried returning to the States in time to time, but alas so far to little avail, which is a huge shame, as when the band played here last, about five years back, they were playing some club gigs, that the http://classicrock.about.com bands seemed to really enjoy doing, but clearly wasn't enough for them to consider coming back again since. -

EUROPE Europe spilte på Tons Of Rock i sommer, og i den forbindelse skape ny bra musikk. Det er en utfordring. Hadde – Melodisk hardrock er mer akseptert i Sverige – Europe og Yngwie Malmsteen er vel de mest tok vi en liten prat med en vi ikke gjort det kunne vi bare lagt opp, vi kunne enn i Norge, hva tror du er grunnen til det? kjente musikerne fra Upplands Väsby, var det noen særs charmig Joey Tempest aldri reist rundt bare for å spille de gamle greiene. – Ingen aning. Jeg har ikke bodd i Sverige på konkurranse dere imellom på den tiden? Vi pleier å spille 5-6 nye låter hver gang. 25 år, men allerede da var Europe tidlig ute med – He he, Leif Edling fra Candlemass kommer før han entret scenen – Hva inspirerte dere til å skrive “War Of Kings” melodisk hardrock i Skandinavia. Dere hadde vel også derfra. Men konkurranse var det ikke, vi på festningen albumet? TNT? De var jo bra synes jeg, og så var det Pretty pleide å se hverandre spille. – Vi hørte Rival Sons skive “Pressure & Time” Maids i Danmark. Så noen var det, men vi begynte – Har du kontakt med Yngwie i dag? i Halden. for mange år siden, og der hørte vi den kuleste tidlig å fokusere på England. Vi ville ut å turnere – Norum prater litt med ham. Jeg har ikke sett trommesoloen vi noensinne hadde hørt, i tillegg som Deep Purple, det var en drøm. Det tok litt tid, Yngwie på lenge, men jeg kjenner ham godt og TEKST MARIANNE LAURITZEN til bra vokal og produksjon, så vi tok en sjanse men “The Final Countdown” åpnet alle dører. -
