LISTING OF MATTERS PERTAINING TO STREET VENDORS A Bench, comprising Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal passed an order on 08.11.2016 in W.P. (C) 6130/2016 by which the matters pertaining to street vendors were directed to be listed before a Special Bench. The operative part of the order dated 08.11.2016 is reproduced as under: “…9. Having regard to the fact that the questions of law and fact involved in the petitions and the appeals are of public importance and it is necessary for this Court to strike a balance between the right of the street vendors to carry on their trade and the larger interest of general public, we are of the view that it is essential that all the cases relating to/ arising out of the issues of the street vending and the implementation of the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 are heard by a Special Bench. 10. Registry is directed to place the papers before the Chief Justice on the administrative side today itself for appropriate orders…” Accordingly, Hon’ble the Chief Justice has nominated Hon’ble DB-VIII comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.S. Sistani and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vinod Goel as the Special Bench to hear all the cases relating to/ arising out of the issues of the street vending and the implementation of the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 and directed that all pending Writ Petitions/LPAs before Single Benches/Division Benches as well as Fresh Petitions/LPAs be listed before Hon’ble DB-VIII. Hon’ble DB-VIII, while hearing the said writ petition, directed to list all these matters on 09.12.2016. Learned Counsel are, therefore, requested to provide details of such cases to the Joint Registrar/Deputy Registrar(Listing) on or before 07.12.2016, so that the cases are placed before the Hon’ble DB-VIII on the date fixed. As approved by Hon'ble Mr.Justice Pradeep Nandrajog, Judge High Court of Delhi and Chairman, DHCLSC, Lok Adalat is to be held on 21st January 2017(Saturday) at High Court of Delhi for the pending cases under following category:- 1.
