Devices There are 6 device manufacturers with accredited joyn/RCS natively on either Android or Windows Phone8 platform: HTC, Huawei, LG-E, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Mobile. Device manufacturers are currently enabling around 50 handsets to support joyn as a native client*. At least an additional 6 companies are actively working on accreditation. Clients are being developed for additional mobile, tablet and PC platforms, including: Blackberry, Windows and MacOS Ecosystem The key to success for a strong and sustainable eco-system is scale – this gives confidence to all players. In addition to the 76 operators known to be implementing RCS, there are over 60 industry players actively supporting joyn/RCS. 39 companies from the joyn/RCS ecosystem exhibited at MWC 2013. RCS Specification and Evolution The latest specification Release 5.1 V2.0 was published at MWC 2013. With openly accessible APIs, web and Internet developers can develop new features quickly that will work in a consistent manner in an RCS context. The GSMA’s development environment, known as the joyn Innovation Accelerator platform, is available to developers offering a live test network facility. An overview of the competition entries is as follows: Entries - 17 entries from 12 companies Global reach: included India, Korea, US, Israel, Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark and Austria joyn Innovation Challenge Awards Gold Winner: Vopium – Smart Remittance Description: a money transfer application that easily and securely enables the transfer of money directly from a user’s mobile phone account to any other user. joyn users get the transfer directly, other users get a special code. Silver Winner: NeuSoft Mobile Solutions – Family joyn – a family member location app using joyn. Description: Gives family members a simplified phone experience with simple voice or messaging and allows their location to be securely tracked on the web. 3 19 June 2013 Special Award for Innovation: KT This award was unanimously agreed by the judging panel because of the highly innovative nature of the apps that would excite users, built on core joyn features but not necessarily using the API suites for their development. Group Call enabled a call with up to 10 other users. Magic Screen Share enable users to mark up pictures, diagrams etc. in real time and share their annotations and remarks in graphic form Video share with chat enabled a video share with the ability to add remarks using chat over the live video 4 19 June 2013 .
