Dear guests, If you decide to visit Turopolje, one of the most picturesque Croatian smaller regions, you will encounter a treasure of rich cultural and historical monuments, national heritage and well preserved landscapes, harmoniously intertwined. The town of Velika Gorica has been developing as a heart of Turopolje, surrounded by centuries-old woods, the Odra, Kupa and Sava rivers, lakes and gentle Vukomeričke gorice. The intention of this brochure is to give you some basic information to identify this area. The rest is up to you. At each step you will get a warm welcome from the noble people of Turopolje. 1 Life with Rich Past In Turopolje, history has left numerous traces visible through cultural and historical buildings or items stored in museum collections.     Map 20 Pannonia-Dalmatia Compiled by P. Kos and M. Šašel Kos, 1995 Introduction The map covers very heterogeneous landscapes ranging from the Adriatic coast to the Alps, and from the mountainous interiors of the provinces of Dalmatia and Pannonia with their rich ore sources to the Pannonian plain. The current state of research–to some degree reflected by the map–is uneven. Thus the Carinthian province of Austria (Piccottini 1989), Slovenia (ANSl 1975), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (ALBiH) are better explored topographically than other regions where no compilations of archaeological sites have been published. The results of topographical research conducted over the past thirty years by Bojanovski (1988) are of great importance. Much antiquarian and topographic information has been collected for Histria and Venetia by Vedaldi Iasbez (1994), with particular attention to Greek and Latin writers. Similarly substantial collection and assessment of data for the Dalmatian coast and islands are provided by Kozličić (1990). TIR Tergeste (1961), TIR Aquincum (1968) and TIR Naissus (1976) are also of value for the areas they cover, though not always reliable. Mócsy’s work (RE Suppl. 9 Pannonia) remains fundamental for the province of Pannonia. As Kozličić (1986) has shown, since antiquity geomorphological changes along the Dalmatian and Istrian coasts have been minimal, if only because no very large rivers flow into the Adriatic; the map therefore retains the modern coastline. The coast of the eastern Adriatic is, however, sinking at a minimal rate annually (Šegota 1976). Geographic names by no means always appear in the nominative in the Greek and Latin sources; the point applies especially to ItAnt, ItBurd, TabPeut and GeogRav, which often represent the only evidence.

Lomnica (091)(497.5) Primljeno 2013-01-22 Prihvaćeno za tisak 2013-04-15 ULOGA VOJKA MIKLAUŠIĆA U OBLIKOVANJU TRADICIJ- SKE KULTURE TUROPOLJA Vesna župetić, Velika Gorica Sažetak Vojko Miklaušić entuzijast je koji je sedamnaest godina skupljao i bilježio narodnu kulturu Turopolja, a posebno kulturnu baštinu Donje Lomnice. Trideset godina nakon njegove smrti objavljena je knjiga Plemeniti puti. Na 360 stranica predstavljena je svakod- nevica turopoljskog seljaka na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće. Analizom knjige Plemeniti puti, u ovom radu razmatra se njena uloga u očuvanju i promicanju lokalnog kulturnog identiteta. Urbanizacija i globalizacijski procesi ubrzano rastaču okvire tradicijskih kultura i kreiraju nove stvarnosti – pogotovu Turopolja, koje je geografski smješteno na rubnim dijelovima najveće urbane sredine u Hrvatskoj - Zagreba, podložno spomenutim utjecajima. Promjenama životnih stilova nestaju međugeneracijske veze unutar zajednice, redefinira- njem njena kulturnog identiteta ujedno se gubi i tradicionalni način prenošenja znanja, vještina i običaja. Stoga je temeljna vrijednost knjige Plemeniti puti da osigurava dostupnost znanja o kulturnim tradicijama Turopolja, imajući ulogu međugeneracijskog posrednika u očuvanju i prenošenju tih znanja i običaja na nove generacije. Kulturni identitet Turopolja utemeljen je, prije svega, u kolektivnoj svijesti o prostoru na kojem su oduvijek živjeli slobodni ljudi, plemići. Višestoljetno nastojanje da se saču- vaju slobode i plemenske tradicije utjecalo je na formiranje zatvorene zajednice nesklone promjenama, zajednice koja uporno slijedi tradiciju sve do današnjih dana. Oblikovanju ovakve percepcije te njenoj održivosti kroz povijest pridonijela je najstarija upravno- politička organizacija u Turopolju, Plemenita općina turopoljska, koja je u kontinuitetu trajala od XIII. stoljeća do 1947.
