Mônica Toledo Piza Ragazzo São Paulo Outubro/ 2019 Resumo A dentição é um complexo de caracteres reconhecido por ser altamente informativo em estudos sistemáticos para a ordem Characiformes, como consequência a dentição foi amplamente explorada em estudos sistemáticos das linhagens que compõem a ordem. No entanto, estudos sistemáticos detalhados que discutam a variação observada na dentição em um contexto da ordem como um todo são escassos. De maneira semelhante, apesar do amplo conhecimento existente sobre o esqueleto dos representantes adultos dos Characiformes, informações detalhadas sobre o desenvolvimento deste complexo anatômico assim como sobre a sequência de ossificação completa para representantes de Characiformes ainda são incipientes e, até hoje, existe apenas uma sequência completa de ossificação disponível na literatura. Apresentamos aqui um estudo detalhado sobre a dentição dos Characiformes contemplando a morfologia dentária, o modo de implantação e a posição da implantação, disposição dos dentes em cada osso, modo de formação dos dentes de substituição e padrão cronológico da substituição. Descrições detalhadas são fornecidas para 78 espécies de Characiformes. -

(2005) evaluated M. sanctaefilomenae as a commercial aquarium fish with potential to become established in the Great Lakes. We report the first detailed descriptive osteocranium of keureling, Tor tambroides (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae) collected from Tangse River, Indonesia. This study aimed to describe the cranium morphology of keureling (Tor tambroides). Keureling fish used in this study were obtained from the catch of fishers in the Tangse River, District of Pidie, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Stages of research include sample preparation, bone preparations, and identification of cranium nomenclature. For osteological examination, the cranium of the keureling prepared physically and chemically. -

Domestication level of the most popular aquarium fish species: is the aquarium trade dependent on wild populations? by Fabrice TELETCHEA (1) Abstract. – Aquarium fish trade has strongly increased in the past decades to become one of the most popular hobbies globally. Historically, all aquarium fish traded were wild-caught. Then, an increasing number of fish spe- cies have been produced in captivity. The main goal of the present study is to apply the concept of domestication level to the hundred most popular aquarium fish species in Europe and North America. The levels of domesti- cation of freshwater aquarium fish species (n = 50) ranged from 0 to 5, with 20 species classified at the level 5 (selective breeding programmes are used focusing on specific goals) and only three species at the level 0 (capture fisheries) and 1 (first trials of acclimatization to the culture environment). In contrast, the levels of domestication of marine fish species (n = 50) ranged from 0 to 3, implying that the production of all marine aquarium fish spe- cies is based either entirely or partly on the capture of wild-caught specimens.
