Journal of Acharaya Narendra Dev Research Institute l ISSN : 0976-3287 l Vol-27 (Jan 2019-Jun 2019) Agricultural Regionalization through Measurement of crop concentration in Kushinagar District Agricultural Regionalization through Measurement of crop This method is very simple to use but results remains vague as many other factors are also reflect the crop concentration in any area or region except area of that crop. concentration in Kushinagar District, Uttar Pradesh II – Second Method Manindra Kushawaha*, Dr. Arvind Kr. Yadav**, Prof. D.C. Pandey*** Chisholm's Method, 1962 Method of crop concentration used by Florence further modified Chisholm in 1962. He modified the Abstract formula as – Ec Tc Study area Kushinagar district is situated in eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. Soil of the district is En Tn deposited by the Gandak and its tributaries, which is very fertile alluvial soil. Good quality soil and three seasons help to grow three seasonal crops of Rabi, Kharif and Jayad. Many crops like – Wheat, Paddy, Maize, These difference either may be positive or negative. By adding these positive and negative amount Turmeric, Mustard, Sugar Cane and various vegetable. Here some crops are very dense, then some crops are seperalty and dividing them by 100, which can get a coefficient ranges between 0 to 1. less dense. With the primacy of one crop, so many other crops are grown simultaneously in one season. Looking at these characteristics of agricultural activities of Kushinagar district we studied crop concentration III – Third Method of the three main crops – Rice, Wheat and Sugarcane here, which shows that I – Rice production is abundant in all parts of the district but rice concentration in the southern block of the Bhatia's Method, 1965 district is high level and rice concentration in the northern block is low level.

Institute of Bio-Medical and Natural sciences, Dehradun 4 Remote Sensing application centre ,Jankipuram, Lucknow *Email: [email protected] Abstract Quality of water is an important aspect for drinking and other related requirement. Water has been the most exploited natural resource due to ever increasing demand of man for food, cloth, industrialization. In the present study effect of sugar effluent on water quality at given region in two seasonal conditions i.e. pre rainy season and post rainy season and the sampled data was analyzed separately for pH, Total dissolved solid (TDS), Nitrate, Phosphate, Dissolved oxygen (DO), Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and Chemical oxygen Demand (COD) and followed by G.I.S. to develop respective maps. It was found that the pH value was alkaline in pre rainy season and slightly acidic in post rainy season. TDS was found high in 66% area during pre rainy season and 74.6% in post rainy season above permissible limit . In pre rainy season 83.4% area and in post rainy season 98.4% area contains high electrical conductivity .In pre rainy season BOD was found more than 6mg/l in 80.9% in pre rainy season and in 84.2% area in post rainy season.

Multiple linkages to determinants such as poverty, socio-economic status, gender, environment, and population distribution, make it a greater developmental issue than just a zoonotic disease. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted to map knowledge, perceptions and practices of community and health systems level stakeholders. Seventeen interviews with utilizers of AES care, care givers from human and veterinary sectors, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), and pig owners and 4 Focused Group Discussions (FGDs) with farmers, community leaders, and students were conducted in an endemic north Indian district-Kushinagar. Results: Core themes that emerged were: JE/AES been perceived as a deadly disease, but not a major health problem; filthy conditions, filthy water and mosquitoes seen to be associated with JE/AES; pigs not seen as a source of infection; minimal role of government health workers in the first-contact care of acute Illness; no social or cultural resistance to JE vaccination or mosquito control; no gender-based discrimination in the care of acute Illness; and non-utilization of funds available with local self govt. Serious challenges and systematic failures in delivery of care during acute illness, which can critically inform the health systems, were also identified. Conclusion: There is an urgent need for promotive interventions to address lack of awareness about the drivers of JE/AES.
