REGISTRATION INFORMATION HOWHOW TOTO REGISTERREGISTER FORFOR OUROUR PROGRAMS:PROGRAMS: Online: www.mbts.com You will need a username and password in order to utilize the online program registration system. Online registration is live. Walk in: Manchester by-the-Sea Recreation Town Hall 10 Central St Manchester. Payments can be made by check, credit card or cash. All payments are due at time of registration. Mail in: Manchester by-the-Sea Recreation Town Hall 10 Central St Manchester, MA 01944. A completed program waiver must be sent in along with full payment. Please do not send cash. Checks should be made out to Town of Manchester. If paying with a check, please indicate the program registering for in the memo & amounts. Registration & payments are not accepted at program sites. Phone registrations are NOT accepted. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Age/ Grade Requirements: Participants must meet the age/grade requirements by the first day of the program or session. Low enrollment: Programs must meet the minimum number of participants one week prior to start date or program will be cancelled. To avoid this we urge you to register EARLY! Fees : Full payment is due at time of registration unless otherwise stated or unless a payment plan has been previously set up with the Recreation Department. There is a $25.00 charge for all returned checks. Waiting Lists: If a program is full by the time we receive and process your registration we will add you to the waiting list and contact you immediately if and when an opening becomes available. Program changes: Since many of our programs are held at the school, occasionally locations and/or program dates may change. We will email any changes to any previously registered participants. Please check our website for updated information. Refund/ Credit Policy: When you register for one of our programs, we depend on your participation to make it successful. A full refund will be made only if programs are cancelled, the Department makes changes that prohibit your attendance, or you have an unforeseen medical problem confirmed by a doctor’s note. If you are dissatisfied with a program for any reason and wish to cancel, the Recreation Department must be notified in writing before the beginning of the second class to be considered to receive a refund credit minus a $25.00 processing fee. If a refund is granted, a credit will be placed in your account for future use. Cancellation policy: We will do our best to reschedule a make up for a cancelled class, however we cannot guarantee it. If we are unable to offer a make-up class, we will issue a credit for that class. Weather cancellation: If you are questioning if your class is cancelled due to weather call our CANCELLATION HOTLINE at (978) 525-6429 . We will also post all cancellations on our Facebook page. We will have different stations set up; you can play gym games with Mr. Boria, learn dance from Miss Garofalo and sing with Miss Dooley. This event is for children in grades K-5. Play “Wintery” Gym Games with Mr. Boria. Learn a dance to a “Wintery” song with Miss Garofalo. Learn a “Wintery” catchy song with Miss Dooley. Gingerbread magnet craft. Hands on fun. Create a mini “Wintery” scene on a graham cracker. Yummm. Let’s get creative. Have your face painted by Elaina Jacobs. Say Cheese! Have your picture taken with Frosty! Please bring a canned good or a new pair of socks for a local homeless shelter. Thank you!! PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH CLAY CLASS WITH MISS BROUSSEAU (GRADES K - 5) Creative Clay is an after school pottery class for students in grades K-5! During this four week class, students will hand build tableware and creative objects with clay. We will complete them with colorful glazes. Please bring a water bottle and smock. Classes will be taught by local artist and teacher, Kristen Brousseau, owner of http://www.ceramicadelmar.com. Novice players will be taught the basic rules, the value of pieces, and how to checkmate. More experienced players will learn different opening and defense strategies, various tactics, and will be given the opportunity to challenge themselves by solving chess puzzles. While students will have the chance to measure their progress through wins and losses against their peers, our main focus will be on encouraging good sportsmanship and having fun. (No class during February Break). [What pair of Hoosiers have played the most games against each other? I would venture to say that two legendary players from Kokomo; John Roush and Phil Meyers would be my guess. I'd say they have probably crossed swords over the board more than a thousand times! (Especially when you include their marathon blitz sessions!) I witnessed their most recent battle royale at the recent Super Tornado organized by Nate Bush in Indianapolis at the Delta Hotel. But I'm also sure that by the time you are reading this that they will already have played many more games at the Kokomo IHOP in their ongoing journey across the chessboard. This encounter was played at a very fast time control [g45+5], but that might have seemed slow to these battle tested veterans.

A new heuristic is proposed, based in part on the Weick organizing model. We evaluate the 'health' of a game position from a Systems perspective, using a dynamic model of the interaction of the pieces. The identification and management of stressors and the construction of resilient positions allow effective postponements for less-promising game continuations due to the perceived presence of adaptive capacity and sustainable development. We calculate and maintain a database of potential mobility for each chess piece 3 moves into the future, for each position we evaluate. We determine the likely restrictions placed on the future mobility of the pieces based on the attack paths of the lower-valued enemy pieces. Knowledge is derived from Foucault's and Znosko-Borovsky's conceptions of dynamic power relations. We develop coherent strategic scenarios based on guidance obtained from the vital Vickers/Bossel/Max- Neef diagnostic indicators. Bu¨rglin1 Department of Cell Biology, Biozentrum, University of Basel, CH-4056 Basel, Switzerland Previously, we have described novel families of genes, warthog (wrt) and groundhog (grd), in Caenorhabditis elegans. They are related to Hedgehog (Hh) through the carboxy-terminal autoprocessing domain (called Hog or Hint). A comprehensive survey revealed 10 genes with Hog/Hint modules in C. elegans. Five of these are associated with a Wart domain in wrt genes, and three with multiple copies of the Ground domain in grd genes. Both the Wart domain and the Ground domain occur also in genes encoding no Hog domain. Further, we define a new group of genes related to the grd genes, called ground-like (grl). Overall, C. elegans has more than 50 genes belonging to these gene families. Phylogenetic and sequence analysis shows that the wrt, grd, and grl genes are derived from each other. Further examination reveals a sequence motif with similarity to the core of the amino-terminal- signaling domain of Hh proteins. Our data suggest that the wrt, grd, grl, and hh genes are derived from a single ancestral gene. wrt, grd, and grl genes are also present in other nematodes, but so far not in any other phyla. Conversely, hh is not found presently in C. elegans nor other nematodes. Thus, the nematode genes could be the homologs of Hh molecules in other phyla.
