Restaurants in and near College Park

This list contains a number of restaurants in the College Park, which we are familiar with. Distances are relative to Van Munching. Overall the food in College Park is oriented towards students, and so is largely cheap and fast. If you want fine dining, go to Washington, DC or Bethesda, Maryland.

On Campus (10 minute walk): • Stamp Student Union (Food Court) McDonald's, Chik-Fil-A, Sbarro, etc.

South College Park (5-10 minute walk): A: • Pita Plus (Kosher Middle Eastern/Deli) Friendly family-run restaurant with table service and good food. (301) 864-5151 • Marathon Deli (Greek) Very small Greek place. Popular for inexpensive food and quick service. • Potbelly Sandwich Works: A national sandwich chain with a local feel. • Ten Ren Tea: The best bubble tea in College Park. Worth a try if you’ve never had it. • Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich: National chain offering a variety of sandwiches. • Ratsie's Terrapin Eatery (): Canonical college-town pizza joint. • China Café: The paragon of cheap Chinese food. Fast, greasy, and served up in styrofoam boxes. • Santa Fe Café: Bar/restaurant with a southwestern theme. Ample patio for outside seating.

B: • Chipotle Mexican Grill (Fast-food Mexican): Popular chain offering huge made to order. • Starbucks (Coffee): No explanation required. • Noodles & Co (): Casual-fast chain featuring a variety of pasta dishes. • Boston Market Store (Rotisserie Chicken): Fast-casual chain specializing in rotisserie chicken. • Cold Stone Creamery: creations. Heart attack in a bowl.

C: • Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar: American comfort food. (301) 864-6118 • Plato's Diner: Classic diner fare with large portions, Greek specialties and fruit pies.

D: • Place of College Park (Sandwiches and Coffee): Bagel sandwiches of all varieties. Espresso bar • California Tortilla (Fast-food Mexican) National fast-food chain featuring Mexican food.

E: • Cornerstone Grill (Bar and Grill): Reasonably priced bar food (hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, etc.) with table service. • RJ Bentley's Restaurant (Diner and Bar): A College Park tradition specializing in sandwiches and reasonably priced entrees. • South Street Steaks (Subs): Authentic Philly cheese steak sandwiches in full artery-clogging glory.

Central College Park (20 minute walk): F: • Food Factory 2 (Afghan): Popular for their inexpensive lunch buffet with fresh bread. • Hanami Japanese Restaurant: Decent Japanese fare and sushi. • Jungle Grille (Sandwiches): A friendly sandwich shop, popular for lunch. • The Jerk Pit (Jamaican): Authentic Jamaican food.

G: • Seven Seas Restaurant: Best Chinese in walking distance of campus. (301) 345-5807 • E. J.’s Landing Restaurant: Decent steak and seafood restaurant, located in the Clarion Hotel. (301) 474-5951

West of Campus on East University Blvd (5-10 minute drive): • Ledo Pizza: The original Ledo Pizza (as seen on Oprah!), famous for rectangular thin-crust . Listed among America's best pizza. 2420 University Blvd. (301) 422-8122 • Udupi Palace (South Indian): A real treasure offering quality, authentic south Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. West of Campus on Greenbelt Road (5-10 minute drive): • Chef's Secret (Thai): Decent Thai food close to campus. 5810 Greenbelt Rd. In the vicinity (10 minute drive): • Koreana (Korean BBQ, lunch box): The closest good Korean restaurant. 5508 Kenilworth Ave. (301) 927-8888 (Drive west on Greenbelt Road and turn right on Kennilworth Ave, Route 201.)
