2. ACCOMMODATION

3. GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Transfers from the airport to the hotel will be provided by the Angolan Government. We will then need to have the arrival and departures dates and time in order to ensure that this is taken into account. In that regard, you are requested to communicate your itinerary to Ms Djamila Junior ([email protected])

If you are staying in one of the following hotels, transport from/to the hotel to/from the venue will be provided according to a specific schedule that will be available at the reception upon your arrival.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION

VISA FORMALITIES

Entry into Angola is subject to a visa. Visa will be provided upon arrival. At this stage, we are negotiating with Angola. Further information will follow.

The passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Angola.

HEALTH

Vaccines: Please check with your doctor to make sure you have taken all necessary vaccinations.

The vaccine against yellow fever is mandatory before entering the Angolan territory. Although it is possible to do it at the airport, it is highly recommended to have the vaccine beforehand to avoid any complications on arrival and to add to the fatigue of the journey.

Remember most common illnesses of travelers include food poisoning. Avoid eating uncooked foods, which can easily lead to diarrhea and other discomforts.

SECURITY

Luanda is a relatively safe city. Personal safety is an individual responsibility. Having common sense and being alert can reduce risks. The best way to stay safe is to avoid trouble at all costs. Beware of pickpockets in crowded places and walking in the streets. The security service and security of United Nations is ready to help you. In this regard, the cooperation of all participants at this meeting would help a lot to ensure your personal safety and the safety of your valuables.

CURRENCIES

The local currency is the "Angolan Kwanza". As indication the current exchange rates between Angolan Kwanza and the US dollar is the following: US $ 1 = 155.497 AOA and EUR 1 € = 400.73 AOA. We can direct you to an exchange bureau.

WEATHER AND INFORMATION

Like the rest of tropical , Angola experiences distinct, alternating rainy and dry seasons. The coastal strip is tempered by the cool Benguela Current, resulting in a climate similar to coastal Peru or Baja California. The average high temperature in Luanda during September is 25ºC. Showers can be expected although sparsely.

The standard voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 HZ as illustrated below.
