Great acting, great characters and story. Will be very disappointed if Get Shorty is not renewed for a season 4. The Title being the same as the movie turns people off I think. I just finished binging the 3 seasons — for the second time. Have turned so many of my friends on to the series and they all love the hell out of it. Please consider a season 4. Get Shorty is an American comedy-drama television series, based on the novel of the same name by Elmore Leonardthat premiered on August 13,on Epix. It has aired for three seasons, consisting of twenty-seven episodes. In Decemberit was renewed for a third season, which began airing on October 6, The series is the second adaptation of the novel, following the film of the same name. Unlike the film, Get Shorty series does not use the plot or any of Get Shorty characters from the novel, borrowing only Get Shorty basic premise of a gangster who attempts to produce a film, as well as its darkly comedic tone. For that reason, the series has been described as more of an "homage" than an adaptation. Get Shorty Shorty follows Miles Daly, who works as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada. For the sake of his daughter, he Get Shorty to change professions and become a movie Get Shortylaundering money through a Hollywood film. But instead of leaving the criminal world behind, he accidentally brings it with him to Los Angeles. Daly ends up working with Rick Moreweather, a washed-up producer of low-quality films who becomes Miles' partner and guide through the maze of Hollywood. A first season order of ten episodes was announced by Epix on May 24, Greenberg said of him, "Davey Holmes is a tremendous talent and has created a fantastic new series that is in the spirit of Leonard's unique brand of social satire and strong narrative voice. Shortly after the first season premier, Epix announced that the series had been renewed for a second ten-episode season.
