The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our lives, our behaviours and our businesses. Entrepreneurs have shown their resilience, their courage and their ability to adapt through this changing environment, which is befitting of this Year’s Small Business Week Theme -- “Forging The Way Forward”. Dr. Samantha Anderson found a way to Forge her Way Forward. Dr. Anderson is a practicing chiropractor in our region with clinics in both Warren and Ashern. Her goal is to reduce pain and improve function and quality of life for her patients of all ages. She specializes in a variety of treatment techniques and is highly trained in the diagnosis and management of spinal pain, headaches/migraines, dizziness/vertigo, muscular and sports injuries as well as pre-natal and post-partum care. Dr. Anderson attended the University of Manitoba and then graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota with her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2018. After graduation she returned home to Warren where she opened her first clinic, Warren Chiropractic and Health Centre. She saw a need for chiropractic care in the Interlake and in 2019 she began traveling to Ashern to provide more accessible chiropractic care to patients in that area of the Interlake. When the pandemic hit, her practice came to a hault. Once the Province allowed businesses to re- open, new protocols were put into place to ensure the health and safety of her patients and staff. A building in Warren became available and Dr. Anderson felt like this was a good opportunity to expand her business and create a clinical space that could be equipped with more treatment rooms and better accommodate the new safety protocols. Dr. Anderson approached Community Futures to enlist their guidance and support in purchasing the building. With the help of a business loan and grant funds from the Louis Riel Capital Corporation, Warren Chiropractic and Health Centre will be opening in their new and completely renovated clinic at 206 MacDonald Avenue in January 2021. “I am so thankful for the guidance and support I have received from Community Futures. They have been a great resource for me to learn the ins and outs of running a business, developing a business plan and obtaining a business loan that has allowed me to expand my business. Community Futures truly cares about helping small business owners succeed and now more than ever we need that type of support. “ Until the opening of the new building, Dr. Anderson continues to practice in Warren at 136 MacDonald Avenue on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as well as in Ashern at 13 Main Street on Wednesdays and Fridays. To book an appointment, please call the Warren clinic at (204) 322-5097, the Ashern clinic at (204) 280-6345 or book online at www.drsamanderson.com.
