UMOROUS fantasia, descriptive of a Coon's wedding. The first record represents the Hcoonawakening on his wedding morn, and his setting out for the joyful ceremony, an amus- ing caricature of the Wedding March occurring in this section. The second record includes an immensely funny representation of the marriage ceremony, the voice of the clergyman being represented by the notes of the bassoon, the answers of the bride by the flute, and of the bride- groom by the trombone. The whole is full of humorous musical effects, wedding bells, casta- nets, and contains some fresh negro melodies. (Speed 81.)Published

G.C. 3911 Nymphs and Shepherds Purcell ENRY PURCELL, once organist of West- minster Abbey, is England's greatest H composer, and this song is an example of the lightness and joy which belong to many of his compositions. Written somewhat in the Handelian style, Purcell, who preceded the Saxon composer, is, if anything, superior to Handel in his treatment of it.
