Davao City, Davao del Sur ‹ Matina Crossing: Balusong Bridge was partially damaged while Bamboo and Hanging Bridges were totally damaged

‹ Matina Pangi: Bridges 1 and 2 of Km. 8 and 9 are not passable (partially damaged).Estimated cost of damages was pegged at PhP11,000,000.00

∑ AGRICULTURE / LIVESTOCK

Davao del Norte ‹ A total of 2,450 hectares of ricefields and banana plantations were damaged: Sto. Tomas (1,685 hectares rice fields and banana plantations); Carmen (610 hectares rice fields); and New Corella (155 hectares rice fields) ‹ Carmen: Banana and coconut plantation worth PhP15.7M were damaged ‹ Panabo City: 7 hectares of banana plantation worth PhP15M were damaged

C. COST OF ASSISTANCE

∑ A total of PhP3,696,150.00 worth of relief assistance was provided to the flashflood victims in Davao City and Davao del Norte , from the combined resources of DSWD, DOH, LGUS, NGOs and other GOs:

‹ DSWD FO-XI - PHP3,094,500.00 (3,500 food packs, hot meals, and financial assistance to the bereaved families) ‹ DOH - PhP 92,000.00 ‹ LGUs - PhP 185,000.00 ‹ NGOs and other GOs - PhP 324,650.00

II. ACTIONS TAKEN

NATIONAL

• NDRRMC Executive Director USEC. Benito T. Ramos visited the affected areas to assess the actual situation. USEC Ramos also had a meeting with

6 Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte and immediately conducted an aerial survey in the affected areas together with the Eastern Mindanao Command

• NDRRMC extended financial assistance to the bereaved families/relatives worth Php10,000.00 per dead victim

• DSWD released PhP5.33 Million to DSWD Field Office XI to augment emergency relief assistance to the affected areas in the form of food items such as: sardines, meatloaf, noodles, full-cream milk powder, empty sacks, and rice

• DSWD submitted to the Financial Management Service for additional request for sub-allotment of P7 Million to DSWD FO XI for the purchase of relief commodities as augmentation assistance to the affected LGUs and processed regular standby funds worth Php300,000.00 for replenishment

• Philippine Red Cross (PRC) provided food assistance to the 7,390 persons; deployed EMTs; established First Aid Stations; conducted health assessment, medical mission and vaccination; and assisted in the conduct of Search and Rescue (SAR) operations

REGIONAL

Search and Rescue and Clearing Operations

• Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council XI (RDRRMC XI) Operations Center coordinated with Eastern Mindanao Command through the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao and 5053 rd SRS, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP XI Maritime, Davao Firefighters and Rescue Services to

assist in the rescue and evacuation of affected families • The AFP particularly the Task Force Davao, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, TOG PAF, and 5053 rd SRS assisted in the conduct of Search and Rescue (SAR) and clearing operations in the affected areas • Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) coordinated with Central 911 USAR, Task Force Davao, Disaster Action and Rescue Team, Habagat Base and VEST Bago Aplaya to conduct rescue operations • PDRRMC Davao del Norte deployed rescuers at the affected areas in coordination with the Philippine National Police and the RDR SMART in Brgy Tanglaw • City Engineer’s Office, Task Force Davao, Davao City Police Office and other disaster volunteer groups conducted clearing operations in the area

Relief Operations

• DSWD FO XI provided family food packs to the affected families; conducted Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD); deployed Social Workers to all evacuation centers and funeral parlor; and coordinated with their local counterparts. The FO has stockpile of relief commodities composed of 2,563 family food packs (PhP633,753.01), and food (PhP4,817,334.60) ready for augmentation to the local government unit • CSSDO distributed relief goods to the affected families amounting to PhP70,820.00

7 • City Government of Davao headed by CSSDO conducted massive relief operations • PDRRMC Davao del Norte extended initial relief assistance to the affected families at the evacuation centers and assessed other immediate needs of

the victims

• DOH XI provided assorted drugs and medicines worth PhP92,000.00 and conducted health assessment and monitoring at the evacuation centers
