    Addendum to School Places Strategy 2017-2022 – Explanation of the differences between Wiltshire Community Areas and Wiltshire School Planning Areas This document should be read in conjunction with the School Places Strategy 2017 – 2022 and provides an explanation of the differences between the Wiltshire Community Areas served by the Area Boards and the School Planning Areas. The Strategy is primarily a school place planning tool which, by necessity, is written from the perspective of the School Planning Areas. A School Planning Area (SPA) is defined as the area(s) served by a Secondary School and therefore includes all primary schools in the towns and surrounding villages which feed into that secondary school. As these areas can differ from the community areas, this addendum is a reference tool to aid interested parties from the Community Area/Area Board to define which SPA includes the schools covered by their Community Area. It is therefore written from the Community Area standpoint. Amesbury The Amesbury Community Area and Area Board covers Amesbury town and surrounding parishes of Tilshead, Orcheston, Shrewton, Figheldean, Netheravon, Enford, Durrington (including Larkhill), Milston, Bulford, Cholderton, Wilsford & Lake, The Woodfords and Great Durnford. It encompasses the secondary schools The Stonehenge School in Amesbury and Avon Valley College in Durrington and includes primary schools which feed into secondary provision in the Community Areas of Durrington, Lavington and Salisbury. However, the School Planning Area (SPA) is based on the area(s) served by the Secondary Schools and covers schools in the towns and surrounding villages which feed into either The Stonehenge School in Amesbury or Avon Valley College in Durrington.

    Stourhead Western Estate Allocation Policy for new cottages at Brook, Gasper Updated May 2017 Purpose: This policy ensures that the 4 new houses in Gasper Street built by Stourhead Western Estate (“SWE”), the Landlord, are let to tenants with local connection (as defined below), taking into account their housing need. 1 Eligibility to apply All members of the public may apply. There is no requirement to be on the Housing Register. 2 Other criteria to be met (a) Applicants must have a local connection, as defined in section 3 below (b) Occupation suitable to size of household Houses will be allocated in accordance with the policy set out in Appendix 1. (c) Financial criteria Tenancies will only be granted to applicants who (i) Are unable to afford to buy a home in the village of Stourton; and (ii) Do not own any residential property; and (iii) Are able to pay rent and outgoings at time of letting from current earnings (checks will be carried out at the Landlord’s expense). Dear Sirs, I wish to object to the above planning application on the following grounds:- 1. Operating Hours - The proposed hours of operation are too long at 0900 to 1900 hours seven days a week. In particular these operating hours on a Saturday afternoon, Sundays and Bank Holidays would set a precedent in our small village location and are unacceptable. 2. Safety and Parking - Parking is already a problem in the area of the proposed car wash. Parents of children at Whitesheet Primary Academy - which is very close to the Proposed car wash - cannot park outside the school. Chapel Lane narrows at the bottom of our drive and vehicles often mount the pavement to continue up Chapel Lane to the School and beyond. I am concerned how emergency vehicles would access properties past the entrance to the car wash. The entrance in or out of the proposed car wash on one side is next to the entrance of our property and on the other side to Zeals Motors workshop. A car-wash queue will completely block and eliminate the available parking much of the time, especially at busy periods. There will be additional parking required by the employees. The footpath runs along the proposed car wash boundary.
