The Best Restaurants and Hotels
★★★ THE BEST RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS EDITION ★★★ Robbe & Berking Restaurant Guide 2017 ★★★ Dear Friends of Fine Cuisine, Delicious Food and Tables Set in Style, This 10th anniversary edition of our restaurant guide is bursting with 234 culinary hotspots featuring 143 Michelin stars. All the eateries listed have one thing in common: their outstanding performance. The very best produce and ingredients are prepared with meticulous attention to detail here by creative chefs with incredible fl air who really love their job. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t make it onto this prestigious list. And speaking of love, there’s another thing that sets these restaurants apart: real love – real silver. After all, the trappings and the atmosphere also play an important role in the dining experience. Even the greatest masterpiece needs a stage to unveil its full effect. Nowadays, it seems there’s a constant pressure for everything to become quicker, more convenient and easier all the time. All the more comforting, then, to know that these restaurants and the people behind them exist. Dine with the best and enjoy yourself. Yours, Oliver Berking 2 3 Alta Alta is a veritable classic amongst the Moderns. Despite its somewhat austere appearance, this range of cutlery conveys an almost sensuous feeling of pure pleasure for the eye and also for the hands. The reason is that its chiselled fi nish allows us to experience the beauty of the silver, there is no unneces- sary ornamentation to distract our gaze away from the clarity of the lines. With its simplistic beauty and its taut silhouette, Alta makes us feel that this is the one and only shape that is justifi ed in providing the basic pattern for every contemporary style of cutlery today. -

Online Travel: the Internet Is the Key Sales Channel for Tour Operators
ITB Berlin 2009 Special Press Release: Online Travel ITB Berlin Special Press Release 08 / 2009 ITB Berlin 2009 March 11 to 15 Online Travel: The Internet is the key sales channel for tour operators Author: Isabel Bommer 1 ITB Berlin 2009 Special Press Release: Online Travel Market and technology trends in digital travel sales Social networking, semantic searches, crowd sourcing, microblogging, and video content: the Internet is developing at lightning pace. Current trends, which today employ online pioneers and e-business developers, are also directly relevant for the tourist sector. In particular, in the main travel markets, the Internet is a targeted way of becoming the most important channel for holiday sales, information and recommendations. The current uncertain economic climate will not stop this trend, although it is likely to require strategic concentration on profitable e-travel applications. The ITB Berlin 2009 highlights the latest challenges and opportunities in online travel sales – with the ITB Future Day, over 130 Travel Technology exhibitors and PhoCusWright@ITB Berlin, the industry’s leading international Travel Technology Congress. In 2008, Europe’s travel sector posted sales of almost 246 billion euros – the largest travel market in the world. In 2007, the sector grew twice as fast as the remainder of Europe’s economy. Almost one third of capacity was ultimately due to Internet sales. The unique feature was that online travel business showed double-digit growth rates (2008: 19 %) and was considerably faster than offline business and the European travel market as a whole (2008: 3 %) (Source: PhoCusWright’s European Online Travel Overview Fourth Edition 2008). -

Martin Creed to Unveil New Neon Work 'Work No. 3485 EVERYTHING IS
Press Release Martin Creed to unveil new neon work ‘Work No. 3485 EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT’ on the façade of the Gstaad Palace Gstaad Palace Palacestrasse 28, 3780 Gstaad 21 December 2020 – 7 March 2021 From the 21 December, a new neon work by acclaimed British artist Martin Creed, ‘Work No. 3485 EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT’, will light up the façade of the Gstaad Palace. The installation is organised by Hauser & Wirth and the Gstaad Palace in an ongoing collaboration, installing iconic artworks by artists from the gallery’s roster since 2019. This year’s special public display is made possible with the generous support of Alex Hank. Awarded the Turner Prize in 2001 for ‘Work 227: The lights going on and off’, Creed has become known for hugely varied work, which is by turns uncompromising, entertaining, shocking and beautiful. The work on view in Gstaad is one of Creed’s most well-known installations: the phrase ‘Everything is going to be alright’ has been used by the artist in a series of large-scale neon works since 1999, and has been installed across internationally renowned institutions and buildings, including the façade of the TATE in London, and most recently Braemar Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The phrase draws on the comforting words Creed was offered by a friend: ‘No one can really tell you everything is going to be alright, but despite that, many times in my life I have been very comforted by people saying something like that to me.’ The resulting work has never resonated so poignantly as in the current situation of 2020. -
