Given the protests that erupted in October, and the ensuing destruction, it has become more important than ever before to hold meetings of this nature, focusing on the security of lives and property. The Year 2020 has indeed been one of complex challenges to our safety and security architecture in the State. There have been significant threats to our collective health, safety, and security. There was the gas explosion at Abule Ado in February 2020, followed closely by the global COVID-19 Pandemic, and the ensuing violence that accompanied the protests against police brutality in October 2020.
