Red Hand Day 2021 - Welttag Gegen Den Einsatz Von Kindersoldaten Schülerrat des GDC Lehrer/-innen und Schüler/-innen des Gymnasium Dresden-Cotta Dresden, 02. Februar 2021 Sehr geehrte Lehrer/-innen, Liebe Schüler/-innen, da die aktuelle Situation es uns schwierig macht geplante Projekte umzusetzen, müssen manche nun digital stattfinden. Eines dieser Projekte, die der Schülerrat für dieses Jahr angekündigt hat, war die Aktion rote Hand. Möglicherweise wurdet ihr schon von euren Vertretern darüber informiert, trotzdem führen wir nochmal ein paar Hintergrundinformationen an. RED HAND DAY 2021 - WELTTAG GEGEN DEN EINSATZ VON KINDERSOLDATEN Am 12.2.2002 trat das Fakultativprotokoll zur Kinderrechtskonvention zum Verbot des Einsatzes von Kindern und Jugendlichen als Soldatinnen und Soldaten in Kraft. Seitdem gilt die Rekrutierung von Kindern unter 15 Jahren als Kriegsverbrechen. Minderjährige dürfen nicht gegen ihren Willen eingezogen werden oder an Kampfhandlungen teilnehmen. Durch das Fakultativprotokoll ist bereits viel passiert. Unter anderem wurden Verantwortliche erstmals vor dem Internationalen Strafgerichtshof für ihre Taten angeklagt. Es muss aber noch viel getan werden, damit es keine Kindersoldaten und - soldatinnen mehr gibt und diese schwere Kinderrechtsverletzung endlich beendet ist. Kinder und Jugendliche müssen in Kriegen als Soldatinnen und Soldaten kämpfen – kannst du dir das vorstellen? Weltweit gibt es bis zu 250.000 Kindersoldaten und - soldatinnen. Am 12. Februar, dem Red Hand Day, fordern Menschen auf der ganzen Welt mit roten Handabdrücken, dass es keine Kindersoldaten und -soldatinnen mehr geben darf. Verbreite mit dem Symbol einer roten Hand die Forderung "Stopp! Kein Einsatz von Kindern als Soldatinnen und Soldaten!". Ziel der Aktion sind Politikerinnen und Politiker. Sie sollen ihren Einfluss geltend machen und die Forderung des Red Hand Day umsetzen. Noch mehr Informationen findet Ihr über https://www.unicef.de/mitmachen/youth/good- action/-/red-hand-day/133216 RED HAND DAY – SO KANNST DU DIGITAL MITMACHEN – Anleitung von UNICEF Ort für Aktion festlegen Das Tolle an der Aktion ist, sie funktioniert perfekt digital – entweder alleine oder mit anderen. Material organisieren Du benötigst Papier, rote Finger- oder Wasserfarbe und einen Pinsel (falls du keine Farbe hast, geht auch ein roter Filzschreiber) und einen dicken Filzschreiber. Freunde aktivieren mitzumachen Frage Freunde oder auch deine Familie, ob sie bei deiner Aktion mitmachen möchten. Oder mache die Aktion gemeinsam mit deiner ganzen Schulklasse. Natürlich kannst du den Red Hand Day auch alleine machen und deine rote Hand auf Instagram posten. Los geht's: Deine rote Hand Trage die rote Farbe mit dem Pinsel auf die Handinnenfläche auf. Drücke anschließend die Hand auf das Papier. Alternativ kannst du deine Hand flach auf das Papier legen und mit einem roten Stift umrunden. Schreibe nun deinen Namen und deine Forderung auf das Papier neben deine rote Hand. Übergabe per Post an Politiker*innen Schick deine rote Hand und deine Forderung per Post an eine*n Politiker*in. Bitte sie*ihn, sich gegen den Einsatz von Kindersoldat*innen einzusetzen. Unter www.bundestag.de siehst du, wer für deinen Wahlkreis zuständig ist. ->Dazu findet ihr weiter unten eine Vorlage eines Briefes von UNICEF. Posten Fotografiere deinen Handabdruck samt Forderung und poste ihn auf Instagram und Co. mit den Hashtags #redhandday, #RedHandDay2021 und #unicefyouth. Du kannst auch Politiker*innen verlinken, damit sie auf die Aktion und unsere Forderung aufmerksam werden. Markiere deine Freund*innen, damit sie auch bei der Aktion mitmachen. Wir, der Schülerrat des GDC, bitten darum das sich so viele wie möglich an der Aktion beteiligen um auf die Forderung, den Einsatz von Kindersoldaten zu unterbinden, aufmerksam zu machen. Es würde uns auch sehr freuen, wenn ihr eure Freunde und Familie dazu aktivieren könntet sich an dieser Aktion zu beteiligen. Sie kämpfen an der Waffe für staatliche Armeen oder andere bewaffnete Gruppen, werden als Spione, Köche oder Lastenträger eingesetzt. Vielen von ihnen werden auch sexuell ausgebeutet. Das alles mit verheerenden Folgen für ihre psychische und physische Entwicklung. Meist leiden diese Mädchen und Jungen ein Leben lang unter den schrecklichen Erlebnissen. Viele Kindersoldaten kämpfen mit Kleinwaffen aus deutscher Herstellung. Vom deutschen Hersteller Heckler & Koch sind beispielsweise weltweit rund zehn Millionen Sturmgewehre des Typs G3 im Einsatz, viele davon in Kinderhand. Alleine auf legalem Wege wurde das G3 nach Angaben der Bundesregierung in mehr als 80 Länder geliefert. Deutschland ist die drittgrößte Rüstungsexportnation der Welt, hinter den USA und Russland. Millionen Kleinwaffen aus deutscher Herstellung landen in Krisen- und Konfliktgebieten. Diese Waffen eignen sich besonders für Kindersoldaten, da sie klein und leicht handhabbar sind. Bestätigt wird das beispielsweise von Ishmael Beah,einem ehemaligen Kindersoldaten aus Sierra Leone und mittlerweile UNICEF- Botschafter für Kinder im Krieg. „Das G3 war sehr populär im Krieg in Sierra Leone“, sagt er. Anlässlich des Internationalen Tages gegen den Einsatz von Kindersoldaten am 12. Februar fordern wir Sie mit dem Symbol der Roten Hand auf, sich dafür einzusetzen, dass Deutschland keine Waffen mehr in Krisen- und Konfliktgebiete exportiert, in denen Kindersoldaten eingesetzt oder Menschenrechte verletzt werden. Die Vergabe von Waffenproduktionslizenzen in Länder außerhalb von EU und NATO muss komplett gestoppt werden, da die so produzierten Waffen in vielen Fällen in Krisengebiete gelangen. Die weiteren Forderungen der Aktion Rote Hand und des Deutschen Bündnis Kindersoldaten finden Sie in der Anlage. Gern würden wir uns mit Ihnen über dieses Thema austauschen. My name is Sarah Ma and I am so excited to be your chair at SOCOMUN. I am currently a senior at SMCHS and this is my fourth year in MUN. Through MUN, I have gained a deeper knowledge of international politics, as well as the current issues that plague our society. This program has been a great way to meet and collaborate with other delegates while helping me hone my public speaking skills. I typically debate human rights topics; my favorites include enhanced interrogation, the legality of the death penalty, and fraudulent medicine trafficking. I have participated in the UCSD and UCSB conferences and will be traveling to Prague later this year. In my free time, I love dancing, going to the beach, doing yoga. I hope that SOCOMUN will be a fun and educational experience for all of you, and that you will be encouraged to continue with MUN! Our committee is based off of the UNODC’s mandate areas in the E4JMUN program, specifically Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling. We will begin substantive debate where delegates will give speeches on their solutions regarding the trafficking of child soldiers. Date ii Abstract With contemporary conflicts being fought amongst and alongside civilian populations, the likelihood of professional soldiers encountering children during military operations has increased. Legal frameworks concerning the topic of children in armed conflict are born from sociological understandings surrounding the Western concept of childhood based on the idea that children are innocent and in need of protection. Within theatres of armed conflict children can be encountered by military forces in two distinct ways; either as innocent bystanders or as security threats. However, a moral dilemma can occur when a child, who is armed and capable of a lethal attack, is encountered by an adult soldier, whose values resonate with the Western concept of childhood.
