ANNUAL CONVENTION 2020 FAMILIARISATION TRIPS
DAY TRIP OPTIONS
Day trips are open to all delegates.
FRIDAY FAM TRIP OPTION 1 – Bristol’s Harbourside Attractions 10:00 – 17:00
Showcasing the top attractions on Bristol’s Harbourside, this one-day itinerary will include a Harbour Cruise on Bristol Packet Boats, visits to Brunel’s SS Great Britain, M Shed, We The Curious, and Bristol Aquarium.
The fam trip will end at Bristol Temple Meads station at 17:00 for return train travel.
FRIDAY FAM TRIP OPTION 2 – 400 species & 900 years 10:30 – 17:00
Exploring Bristol’s history, heritage and wildlife, this one-day fam trip includes visits to Bristol Cathedral, Bristol Zoo Gardens and Berkeley Castle.
Delegates will return to Bristol Parkway station at 17:00 for return train travel.
FRIDAY FAM TRIP OPTION 3 – Classic Bath 10:30 – 17:00
A day-trip itinerary exploring the historic Bath, including a walking tour of the city, visit to the Roman Baths, and visit to the Royal Crescent hotel & #1 Royal Crescent museum.
The fam trip will end at Bath Spa station for return train travel.
OVERNIGHT FAM TRIP OPTIONS
Overnight fam trips are open to tour operators only and limited to one representative per company. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
OVERNIGHT FAM TRIP OPTION 1 – Creative & Classic Bristol Friday 7 February 10:00 – Saturday 8 February 17:30
Showcasing Bristol’s unique and exciting mix of heritage and creativity, this varied itinerary will see delegates taking a Street Art Tour & Experience, visit the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, create their own Aardman character at the Aardman Animations Workshop and take part in an Espensen Spiritis tasting and workshop.
Day two will begin with a Harbour Cruise on a Bristol Packet Boat, followed by a visit to Brunel’s SS Great Britain, a Bristol Food Tour and a tour of the BBC Studios.
Delegates will stay overnight at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel or Holland House, and return to Bristol Temple Meads station at 17:30 on Saturday 8 February for return train travel.
OVERNIGHT FAM TRIP OPTION 2 – Two cities, one trip Friday 7 February 10:00 – Saturday 8 February 17:00
This fam trip combines highlights from both neighbouring cities. Delegates will visit The Wave – a new surfing experience and the first of its kind in England, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, and take a tour of Bristol Hoppers Brewery before transferring to Bath for a night’s stay at The Abbey Hotel.
The following day delegates will visit the Roman Baths, take a walking tour of the city, and visit the Royal Crescent hotel and #1 Royal Crescent museum.
Delegates will return to Bath Spa station at 17:00 on Saturday 8 February for return train travel.
