Coalgate Saleyards 19th September 2013

The heavy weight prime lamb market eased at this week’s Coalgate Sale. Top lambs made $120 to $127.

Prime Lambs – 3000

Tops $120 - $127 Good $115 - $118

Mediums $108 - $112 Light $95 - $102

The prime ewe market was sound. Very heavy sheep sold up to $135.

Prime Ewes – 650

Tops $110 - $130 Good $95 - $105

Mediums $80 - $90

Light $70 - $80

Tidy store shorn ewe lambs made from $95 - $98. Ewes with lambs at foot made $65.

Store Lambs – 700

Good $85 - $98 Mediums $75 - $82

Light $60 - $70

A very good yarding of top quality cattle which resulted in firm prices.

A reasonable yarding of yearlings which sold well. Market still under pressure with the feed situation being slow.
