    RÉPUBLIQUE CENTRAFRICAINE mVAM Bulletin # 18 : Janvier 2021 Une hausse généralisée des prix des denrées alimentaires est enregistrée dans les localités affectées par une détérioration de la situation sécuritaire et par le blocus sur le transport de marchandises Points saillants : Le suivi hebdomadaire des marchés mis en place suite à la crise postélectorale montre une hausse continue et généralisée des prix des produits importés et locaux, allant jusqu’à 100 pourcent, sur les marchés de Bangui, Bimbo et Bégoua entre fin décembre 2020 et fin janvier 2021. Les produits les plus affectés sont le riz (100%), la farine de blé (97%), la viande (64%). Malgré la période des récoltes, au niveau national, les prix du riz, du maïs et du manioc connaissent une hausse en début janvier 2021 comparé à novembre 2021. L’offre des produits céréaliers connait une baisse dans la quasi-totalité des localités en raison de l’insécurité et du blocus sur le transport de marchandises. Le coût du panier alimentaire a connu une forte augmentation en raison de la hausse des prix de la viande, de l’huile, du sucre et du riz en début janvier 2021 comparé à novembre 2020. Méthodologie En RCA, le mVAM consiste à contacter par téléphone mobile les informateurs clés – commerçants, cultivateurs, staff des ONGs, WFP/Joel KAMOUN agents du gouvernement – afin ’d évaluer la situation de la sécurité alimentaire à travers les informations collectées au niveau des Contexte marchés. En décembre 2020 et janvier 2021, respectivement un total de 183 et 185 informateurs clés ont été contactés par téléphone mobile dans 34 localités du pays.
