Central African Republic Assistance programme to provide physical rehabilitation, psychological rehabilitation and socio-economic support to victims in the situation of the , funded by the Trust Fund for Victims

Crimes War crimes and crimes against humanity Integrated and multi-sectoral assistance to provide psychological, physical rehabilitation as well as socio-economic support through Income Generating Activities (IGAs). - Implementing mobile clinics and one-stop-centre approach through which sexual violence survivors and other victims with severe health conditions (gynaecological fistula and prolapses) will be able to easily access medical care; Specified - With regards to psychological and mental health care, activities organizing groups of psychotherapy “Common Threads” to alleviate the trauma that victims of sexual and gender-based violence experience; - Providing material support services, in the form of Income generating activities and micro-enterprises, vocational training, schooling of victims ‘children as well as addressing other urgent basic needs of victims and children living with HIV/AIDS. To provide a holistic response to the needs of victims within the jurisdiction of the Court in Central African Republic through: - Medical assistance including curative and preventive care, clinical care and treatment of victims with serious physical harms such as gynaecological injuries, including surgery if Goal of the necessary; specified activities - Psychological support through individual support, group therapy and group sociotherapy; - Socio-economic assistance, such as literacy, small business management and microcredit programmes, aimed not only at empowerment but also at transformation and resilience. Crimes War crimes and crimes against humanity Integrated Physical and Psychological Rehabilitation Assistance for Victims in Central African Republic: - Strengthening social cohesion and acceptancy of stigmatized victims through organization of community dialogues campaigns, training and involvement of community key influence leaders in mediation, peace building and reconciliation initiatives; - Providing primary health care through screening , medical referrals and by covering related medical expenses; - Providing psychosocial support and stabilizing the mental health to victims living with PTDS, particularly survivors victim of Specified sexual violence, rape and abductees through individual activities psychotherapy counseling to be conducted in psychotherapy centers, organizing family mediation and community psychotherapy based on customized psychological conditions assessment, capacity buildings of social workers and community leaders. - Based on needs assessment, providing the vocational training and materials/equipment to build up small business activities such as Income Generating Activities (IGAs) and self- employment business. Developing social and community savings groups that strengthen the saving and solidarity spirit among members for self-management and self-promotion. To improve the living conditions and resilience of the victims of crimes under the Court in CAR by enabling to : - Access primary health care through screening , medical referrals and by covering related medical expenses; - Improve the psychological and psychosocial conditions of Goal of the victims through individual, group and community therapy and specified activities nutrition support for victims taking HIV treatments; - Gain skills and capacities in conducting socioeconomic activities such as income generating activities or other small businesses as well as facilitating access to loans in order to improve their socioeconomic status. Crimes Crimes against humanity and war crimes

Integrated Physical and Psychological Rehabilitation Assistance for Victims in Central African Republic - To alleviate the psychological harm suffered by victims, through a “Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Trauma” that aims at improving mental health. Specified activities - To provide health care and medical treatment of physical injuries of victims to remedy physical injuries by partnering with local health centres and specialized hospitals networks. - Vocational trainings provision and entrepreneurship skills development, as well as the establishment of “Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) into formal financial scheme. - Introduction of digital financing to its VSLA system through the use of mobile money to exchange money and loans.

To provide integrated physical, physiological and socio-economic Goal of the support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence and their families through a multi -sectoral and survivor/victim-centred specified activities approaches based on human rights and on the involvement of victims throughout the project implementation.

Integrated Physical and Psychological Rehabilitation Assistance through provision of medical kits, psychosocial assistance, economic support and sensitisation of communities against discrimination of the Victims in Central African Republic. o Psychological rehabilitation of survivors through psychotherapy counselling and de-traumatization sessions, Training of social counsellors through “Build, Manage and Transfer” approach, organizing discussions in psychotherapy Specified activities groups, Organization of recreational events for resilience such as socio-cultural activities. o Heath care provision to victims suffering physical harms through medical assessment, training of health personnel, medical care and medical referral based on the outcome of medical assessment. o Improving the socio-economic status of the most vulnerable victims through support for economic activities promotion; vocational training and employment opportunities for victims and their families

To achieve victims’ resilience at the individual and community level by responding to specific health care needs and addressing the physical Goal of the harm suffered; providing psychological rehabilitation based on holistic specified activities and community-based mobilisation to prevent the recurrence of such violence and supporting income generating activities to improve the socio-economic status of the most vulnerable victims and their families.

Medical and Health care, Psychological Rehabilitation and Socio Economic support of victims of the crimes committed within the jurisdiction of the Court in Central African Republic. o Psychological and mental health recovery of the victims through individual psychotherapy and groups of psychotherapy, family mediation, capacity building of the psychosocial counsellors, information and awareness raising to reduce stigma and discrimination against victims within the communities Specified o Providing of quality medical assistance to victims through medical activities referrals for provision of medical services such as gynaecological surgery ( fistula repair and prolapses), and other needed medical services like assisting victims living with HIV/AIDS; o Enhancing the socio-economic status of the victims and capacities to develop small business through vocational trainings, business plan set up and education support of the victims ’dependents. o Supporting the social dynamics of community mobilization in the fight against gender-based violence, the promotion of reconciliation and consolidation of peace.

To achieve victims’ resilience and dignity by provision of psychological and psychosocial rehabilitation to help them overcome the harm Goal of the suffered and to improve their well-being; by provision of medical specified activities assistance to victims suffered from physical harm; by supporting socio- economic activities such as the income generating activities as well as enhancing the employment opportunities to victims and their families.
