It is not divisive causing discord and unwarranted disagreement. It is not sowing dissension, sowing discordance, sowing hostility. Harmony is rapprochement, understanding and finding common ground. It is not alienation or separation. It is not estrangement, to turn off anyone. Harmony is agreeing without being disagreeable. It is not conflict or contention. It is not opposing anyone for the sake of opposition. Harmony is coordination, collaboration and accommodation. It is not disorder or creating disturbance. It is not confusion or chaos. Harmony is like music - a vocal or instrumental sound having rhythm, melody and agreeable tonal qualities. It is not a cacophony, grating, raucous sound. It is not discordant or dissonant boom and thunder. Harmony is Masonry “formed and perfected in so much unanimity and concord.” It “enjoys every satisfaction and delight which disinterested friendship can afford.” It is “kindness and brotherly affection”, which is the distinguishing mark of conduct of Master Masons.
