I find it extremely difficult to determine Carl’s greatest asset as he bring so much experience, expertise, knowledge enthusiasm and passion to whatever he is involved with. However it is without doubt his qualities as a person that allows him to deliver the above attributes. Honesty, loyalty, understanding, drive, focus and connection go part of the way to what Carl brings to any environment. This man was once a British Shot-Put Champion and Great Britain International Athlete, he has worked with Olympic Champions, World Champions and World Record Holders. In 1997 he accepted the role as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and since that time has been involved at the very highest levels across the globe. While his resume is certainly hugely impressive, the athletes he has mentored and transformed into world-class high performers is absolutely mind blowing. If you are interested in high performance for your organization, team or as an individual I strongly suggest that you connect with Carl to see what he will bring to the table. I say with complete confidence that after one meeting you’ll want Carl on board” Todd Blackadder Rugby Head Coach Crusaders Super 15s Former Canterbury Crusaders & All Black (captain) Carl Came to work for the Crusaders Super 15’s in 2012, he introduced a tough training regime that the players responded well too, although he only spent a year at the Crusaders he made a positive impact on all he worked with, He has an excellent depth of knowledge and experience that is crucial at the highest level of sport performance. Page 2 Brian Noble Football Manager Toronto Wolfpack Rugby League Head Coach Bradford Bulls, Wigan Warriors, Great Britain. Most successful English rugby league coach in history "What can I say about Carl Jennings?.. Well for me he'll always be the one that got away!!!!As a newly appointed Head Coach at a very successful Bradford Bulls, I lost Carl to the NRL in Australia, a challenge that Carl and his great family took on for all the right reasons! Carl was the head S & C at the Bulls and an integral part of the success that had been built there. I have desperately tried to get him back and employ him in all the professional rugby environments I've since been in. Why? As a conditioner, strength coordinator, coach and mentor he is world class. He is an ideas man, a practitioner, an energy barometer and first class person. I have relied on Carl for help and advice for the past 15 years because I know I will get an honest answers," out of the box" thinking and a fresh approach and outlook to any given situation. Carl offers so much. He gets people and players ready for the challenge, individually and as a collective, he's adapted to different sports (&conquered them) and has been fresh and new in his delivery. His expertise is unquestioned. He still challenges science to get the best results for a group and his "expert" knowledge allows him to do so. He has the uncanny ability to find a "measuring" system better than most, and unusually (for a scientist) understood by all!!His team ethic and ability to feel a work place is invaluable. Getting Carl is so much more than employing an S&C guy, you have the science stuff in spades, he's a clever man. You get an unbelievable ball of energy and team person that answers questions and mentors your group. I can't wait to one day work with him again! Page 3 Professional Athlete Testimonials Petero Civoniceva Rugby League Hall of Fame Australia Queensland Brisbane Broncos, Penrith Panthers The first forward in history to play 40 internationals for Australian. “I worked with Carl during my time at the Penrith Panthers Rugby league Club between 2008 and 2012, I arrived at the Panthers as a 31 year old, with many believing I was past my best and the end of my career. Carl’s systems of training enabled me to continue to maintain elite levels of athletic ability, I believe I played some of my best football during my time at the Penrith Panthers, I also gained selection for Queensland and Australia. In 2009 during the second State of Origin game I suffered a season ending foot injury, I had to sit out the remainder of the season It was during this time Carl really showed his expertise as a Strength & Conditioning coach, he devised a training program to get me back to fitness in the hope I gained selection for the end of season Four Nation tour. Many thought this would be an impossible task due to the severity of the injury, we worked together during early morning arduous training sessions. I was only capable of performing running drills a few weeks before the first test against New Zealand but the testimony to Carl,s gym strength and fitness program was that I passed the Australian Running based team fitness test and gained selection for the first international test match against New Zealand, I subsequently went on to play in all the following test matches during the tournament including the Final against England which Australia won 46 -16, during this game I became the first forward in history to play forty internationals for Australian. I highly recommend Carl to any sports team or athlete that wants to reach their potential”. Owen Franks Rugby Union Crusaders Super 15s All Blacks I worked with Carl in 2012 when he became Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Crusaders. After a heavy work load in 2011, off the back of the All Blacks World Cup Victory, my body was pretty beat up, Carl worked closely with me to help get my Page 4 body back into shape so I could perform at my best. He studied the position I play in rugby (prop) and helped developed an individualised programme that was going to suit me for my position... I noticed a significant difference on the field and in the gym, after only a short time working with him.

  • Two Kiwis on Their Way out of NRL: Kiwis Coach Stephen Kearney Is Philosophical About Two Kiwis Leaving the NRL to Pick up More Money in England
TO: NZRL Staff, Districts and Affiliates and Board FROM: Cushla Dawson DATE: 18 May 2009 RE: Media Summary Tuesday 12 April to Monday 18 May 2009 They are happy helping others: One helps out people from the other side of the world, one mentors the troubled kids at her league club, and another just looks after his mum. What the five winners of this year's Young Community Leaders Awards have in common, though, is a dedication to social work, rather than their social lives. Emma Daken, Teresa Edge, Henare Mihaere, Fofo Molia and Libby Tuite were chosen from nearly 60 nominees to receive the awards, which recognised Wellingtonians under the age of 25 working in the not-for- profit sector, either as a volunteer or in a paid position. Anzac test to stay - and it'll be in Brisbane: Despite the Kiwis' dire results in mid-year tests across the Tasman, the Anzac league test is likely to survive and remain in Brisbane because the New Zealand Rugby League cannot afford to host the game. NZRL chairman Ray Haffenden admits there are conflicting views about the test's value after New Zealand's run of eight successive defeats but has given it his backing and said the league cannot afford to scrap the game, nor host it. No sign of league World Cup cash: Six months since the World Cup final, the much-trumpeted tournament profit apparently still sits in a Rugby League International Federation bank account. New Zealand has not been told what the final profit is, or how it will be distributed and RLIF boss Colin Love couldn't be reached last night.

Triple Bottom Line (TBL) Assessment Summary The Triple Bottom Line Assessment is required to be published in accordance with Part 4, section 23 (1)(b) of the Freedom of Information Act 2016 19/514 – Canberra Raiders Performance Alliance Agreement Summary of impacts: The submission seeks Government agreement to the Minister for Sport and Recreation finalising an agreement (the Agreement) with the Canberra Raiders upon which National Rugby League (NRL) content, and Canberra Raiders home games, will be played in Canberra up to and including the 2025 NRL season. The Agreement has particularly positive social impacts, with a positive assessment made in the areas of gender equality (raising the profile of women in sport), health (encouraging community participation in sport and recreation activities), and access to participation in community activities (social and community-building benefits of major events). The Agreement also has positive economic outcomes in relation to economic growth thanks to the expenditure, visitation and destination marketing activity associated with hosting major sporting events. Negative impacts have been identified in relation to the ACT Budget (merely because funding will need to be appropriated, although the submission notes the worth of the investment) and waste generation. On balance, the TBL assessment supports the submission and the Agreement. Level of impact Positive Negative Neutral Social Level of impact Impact Summary Positive Gender equality The Canberra Raiders, together with Canberra Region Rugby League, play an active role in the promotion and development of Women’s rugby league in the Territory. The Katrina Fanning Shield (Open Women’s Tackle competition) is contested by seven teams from ACT and surrounding region.

  • Completely Unacceptable’ As RFL & Super League Leave Toronto Players in the Dark 13 Aug 2020
‘Completely Unacceptable’ as RFL & super league leave Toronto players in the dark 13 Aug 2020 GMB, the Union for Rugby League, has accused the RFL and Super league of leaving Toronto Wolfpack players in dark over the possible takeover of the Canadian based franchise. The Union and players are yet to hear any concrete details over the takeover of the club, meanwhile the players families have been struggling without wages for three months. @TOwolfpack @TheRFL pic.twitter.com/P3hXBFK8qL — Gob (@gazobrien22) August 10, 2020 The club was forced to withdraw from Super League for 2020, citing major financial issues caused by the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic. In recent days the club has announced that they are talking to four interested parties surrounding a takeover, however little to no information on this has filtered down to the players or their union. Yesterday players took to social media to vent their frustrations after receiving no pay for three months and being ‘stranded’. Some have even faced evictions. Technically stranded in UK. No visa so I can’t work, no help getting home to Australia as promised. About to be evicted from my house. A lot of people have it a lot worse then me but this situation has gone too far now. @TheRFL — Darcy Lussick (@D_LUSSICK) August 10, 2020 GMB is calling on the RFL and Super League to step up and pay the players contracts up to the end of the season in November, ensuring that the families have means to live and are taken out of the current limbo they find themselves in.
