Dean Stott is one of the UK’s most versatile adventurers and motivational speakers. A former soldier in the (SBS), his career was ended by a parachuting accident in 2011. Unable to run, he took up cycling, eventually setting not one but two Guinness World Records. This tale of triumph over adversity now forms the basis of everything he does. Touching on his experiences of , fear, ambition and achievement, his story is an object lesson in the importance of learning to adapt.

Dean combines survival, outdoor and military training with the ability to safely operate a wide range of vehicles and weapons, in all weathers and environments. To put it simply, he can ride, drive, walk, run, ski, parachute, climb or swim virtually anywhere accessible by man. This makes the Frogman an incredibly versatile partner for brands, businesses and charities of all kinds.

Dangerous work After leaving the armed , Dean became a private security consultant. Between 2011 and 2016, he took on jobs that saw him successfully deal with extortion, kidnapping, civil war, pirates and military coups. In 2014, he single-handedly evacuated the Canadian Embassy in Libya, rescuing four diplomats and 18 military personnel.

The road back In 2016, Dean began training for a challenge that would change the course of his life. His plan was to cycle the entire 14,000-mile length of the Pan-American Highway (PAH), the longest motorable road in the world. In May 2018, he completed his journey, gaining not one but two world records: the fastest person to cycle the length of South America and the fastest cycle journey of the Pan American Highway. With his final time of 99 days, 12 hours and 56 minutes, Dean smashed the former world record by 17 days and became the first person ever to make the journey in under 100 days.

A versatile speaker Since leaving the , Dean has given speeches to a diverse range of audiences, from schoolchildren to doctors and business leaders – always with an underlying theme of effectively adapting to change.

A published author Dean’s first book, Relentless, was published by Headline in 2019. Covering his army training, special forces operations and his record-breaking bike ride along the Pan-American Highway, it tells the story of a man who has spent his life adapting to changing situations.
