More filters. Sort order. Dec 08, Chad rated it liked it. Medusa is pissed that Tony Stark kidnapped Ulysses and destroys all of Stark's personal property. Maximus decides to cause some chaos and sets off a plan to blame the Inhumans for destroying Stark's facilities and killing his workers. Eventually a cease fire is struck between Stark and Medusa. Followed up by an annual focusing on Grid finally giving the character some death. Nov 19, Terence rated it really liked it. An Inhuman who can predict the future, Ulysses, has appeared. This did not sit well Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II Medusa and the other Inhumans an New Attilan is it's own nation and kidnapping one of it's people would not be tolerated. Medusa sets plans in motion to ruin Tony Stark's personal life, but chose to avoid a full on war. That didn't sit well with An Inhuman who can predict the future, Ulysses, has appeared. That didn't sit well with some Inhumans who decided Stark must pay dearly and he does when Stark Tower is destroyed. New Attilan versus Tony Stark begins. I enjoyed it, but I was expecting something else. The majority of the actual fighting between the two sides is minimal and many of the key moments don't even take place in the pages of Uncanny Inhumans. That being Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II the last chapter made up for a lot of what was lacking. Medusa was being very conscious about how she handled Tony Stark's act of war by coming into a foreign nation, I know they are basically in Manhattan, but still a foreign nation, and kidnapping one of their people. Tony came off as quite the self righteous jerk in this volume to me. He acted as though starting an international incident is no big deal. Dec 10, Chris Lemmerman rated Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II really liked it Shelves: comics-and-manga-read. As usual, the tie-ins to Civil War II are better than the main story. This volume shows us some stuff from the Inhumans' side that we don't get to see, like Triton and Maximus trying to save the day and it all going totally wrong, as well as Medusa struggling with not taking revenge on Tony Stark, only for that to go totally wrong as well. It all goes wrong, but Charles [Read as single issues] Civil War hits the Inhumans because of course it does and this means bad things for everyone involved. It all goes wrong, but Charles Soule makes it compelling drama throughout. This volume also includes an annual that takes NuHuman Grid back to India to Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II up on his first appearance and give him some much-needed background. Carlos Pacheco manages to draw two and a half issues without needing a fill-in, which is a miracle, and then Kim Jacinto steps in to finish the story off, who is much more reliable. Kev Walker pencils the annual after his three issue run in the previous volume of the series, and the extended page count doesn't hurt the quality of his work. One of the better Civil War II tie-ins. I've liked the Inhumans books best when they concentrate on the politics of parking a sovereign country in the middle of New York City. I liked watching Medusa get even, within fairly strict boundaries. I wouldn't want to cross her. Of course, it doesn't end there, as some of the Inhumans decide that bankrupting Stark, destroying his cars, and Pretty solid, actually. Of course, it doesn't end there, as some of the Inhumans decide that bankrupting Stark, destroying his cars, and leaking his texts and emails to various models just isn't enough. It is kind of fun to see Stark Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II his comeuppance, but some of the action that follows is tedious. Still, I enjoyed this more than I had previous volumes. As a Civil War II tie-in this volume certainly won't be the worst. Nor the best. This is not war, this is personal. Still, some of her subjects think she's going too softly on the man in armor and trigger a chain of events that may lead to war yet. This is it. No more, no less. It actually ties in with the main event, without a huge amount of brilliance but nothing to be ashamed of. Only the very end paves the way for an eventual follow-up in future issues. Carlos Pacheco does the absolute minimum on the drawing board, fortunately seconded by a more inspired Kim Jacinto. The volume includes the Annual 1, focused on Grind, the Indian as in from India Inhuman hit by the terrigen mist during the FCBD issue, of which it is a follow-up of a kind. It deals with home, kinship, membership and the ties that bind. Illustrated by Kevin Walker, it is a decent story but nothing to loose sleep over with. Apr 30, Paul E. I read most of this volume while the issues were originally being published, but it was good to finally finish it off. Still, I was hoping for something a bit different. It was still an enjoyable read, but not as good as I'd hoped. Jun 17, Scott Lee rated it it was amazing. Again Marvel actually gets it right. Much like the Captain America: Sam Wilson Civil War II volume I've already reviewed, this story manages to both engage the current huge, all-universe storyline and continue in a manner coherent to individual readers of a given comic. They haven't successfully done that in a long time. For years the books have gone all totally incoherent and nonsensical dropping everything to tie in to the big story of the moment. Granted the Inhumans are super-central to the Again Marvel actually gets it right. Granted the Inhumans are super-central to the Civil War II and so the story Uncanny Inhumans Vol. 3: Civil War II less perfectly independent than Cap:SW's, but it was as independent as possible. In a totally unconnected subplot, Supes has to punch a crappy Doomsday-knockoff before having to fight an even more one-dimensional baddie called Khyber. It's not a two volume story. Each issue except for issue 1 featured a page main story by Busiek, with art by Mark Bagley, and a ten-page backup story co- written by Busiek and Fabian Nicieza, with art from various artists, including Tom Derenick, Mike Norton and Scott McDaniel. The analysis concludes that biocentric ideals primarily are embodied by the main antagonist of the film series, whereas the protagonists mainly represent anthropocentric perspectives. Since there is a continuum between these two ideals some variations were found within the characters themselves, but philosophical conflicts related to the environment were also found within the group of the Avengers. Bam! Pow! We all know what superheroes are. They can do things no normal person can, stand against forces the rest of us can't hope to combat, represent the ideals of our society -- even if they're ideals we've forgotten ourselves -- and they act as a beacon and an example for the rest of us. Superheroes also get into great, exciting fights and wear colorful Spandex uniforms. For all the dizzying number of superheroes (and villains!) out there, they're each subtly different from one another, each driven by his or her own motivations and background. Oh sure, eye lasers and the ability to fly are flashy and exciting and cool, but it's the human drama, the relationships and mortal struggles of these sometimes godlike beings that grounds them, makes them relatable, and makes us keep watching them. Sometimes superhero drama comes from the hero's need to see justice -- or vengeance -- done. Sometimes it's a need to protect that which the hero holds dear. Sometimes it's the struggle that comes with suddenly being thrust into a mantle of great power, and the enormous responsibility that comes with it. The only difference between a superhero and a supervillain is how the individual character reacts to these motives, how far she or he is willing to go to see justice -- or vengeance -- done, what lengths the character is willing to go to to protect something, or how the hero -- or villain -- handles that mantle of power and responsibility.

A truce is negotiated between Odin and the frost giant king Laufey. 400-500s AD – Odin leaves the Tesseract on Earth. 1832 – James Howlett is born. 1845 – James Howlett’s father is murdered by Thomas Logan. Howlett discovers his mutant powers and kills Logan, only to learn that Logan is his true father and Logan’s son, Victor Creed, is Howlett’s half-brother. 1861-1975 – James Howlett fights in the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War with his brother Victor Creed. 1918 July 4 – Steve Rogers is born to a young couple in the Hell’s Kitchen section of New York City. His father dies of injuries from being mustard gassed during World War One, leaving his mother to raise the boy. 1924 June – Steve Roger’s mother dies of tuberculosis. Young Steve is placed in an Eighth Avenue orphanage. 1930 Sept. – A teenage Steve Rogers meets James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes and the pair quickly become best friends. 1934 – Howard Stark and Abram Erskine briefly meet at an engineering conference in Geneva. February – Johann Schmidt meets the newly appointed German Chancellor Adolph Hitler at the Deutsches Operhaus in Berlin where he tries to convince Hitler of his theory that the Norse myths may actually be true.
