  • Hello, Summer!
SUMMER 2019 FIRST WORD A LETTER FROM THE MAYOR Hello, Summer! ELLO, SUMMER! The summer season in the City of Olive Branch is an amazing time. There are so many options for you and your family to enjoy, Hand the Olive Branch City Park is host to many of those options. There are baseball games and tournaments, lakes for fishing, trails for walking or jogging, pavilions and tables for picnics, tennis courts, and lots of wide open spaces to play to your heart’s content. Perhaps the crown jewel of our park is the all-inclusive, universal playground. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you really need to see it. Your kids will love it! The City Park is also host to this year’s 4th of July celebration. This FREE EVENT will feature live music, activities for the kids, food, fun, and a spectacular, world class fireworks show. There’s no better way to celebrate Independence Day! For our students, summer means one thing: school’s out! The 2018–2019 school year demonstrated something that we already knew about our Olive Branch students: they’re champions! Our students are champions both figuratively and literally. Between the four area public high schools and middle schools that serve Olive Branch residents, our students earned eleven state championships! That’s not a misprint. Eleven championships! As mayor, it gives me great pride to know that our City is represented in our state by students who strive for excellence. I hope you and your family have a happy and safe summer! Scott B.
