Who were the Koreshans? The Koreshan Unity started in the 1870s in New York [1], where Teed began preaching his beliefs. He formed short-lived groups in New York City and Moravia. He later moved to Chicago. Teed's followers established a commune in Chicago in 1888 called – The Koreshan Unity. Some members also created a short-lived community in San MILK AND WINE LILEY Francisco (1891-1892). Small church groups existed in other towns.

This Seal of Solomon was placed in the Estero Village Seal in the THE ART HALL upper left corner. 21 The Art Hall was one of the most important buildings of the Koreshan Unity Settlement. THE SEAL OF SOLOMON vs. THE STAR OF DAVID A rather interesting take on the very real differences between the Star of David and the Seal of Solomon reads as follows: “The Seal of Solomon resembles the Jewish Star of David, but the Star of David does not have interlocking triangles.” It is unlikely the Pope would have on his Mitre (hat) the Jewish symbol of the Star of David. The Seal of Solomon is over 3000 years old. However, the Star of David use can be traced back to the 17th century. However, BACKGROUND ON THE SEAL: it was not widely used until the 19th century. WHAT ABOUT IMMORTALITY OF THE SPIRIT OR SOUL? Conscious existence in spirit form, is not "immortality," because Christian, as well as a Jewish doctrine, teaches that they exist outside their dead bodies. To prepare one's soul for immortality, they would have to refrain from the practice of sexual intercourse. This attitude was encouraged by the contemporary churches of the time, and especially

The stove was initially used at a slave camp at the Kingsley Plantation located near Jacksonville, Florida. From there it was moved to Tallahassee, Florida and stored in a museum. Later Hedwig Michel found out about it and had it moved to Koreshan State Park and restored and placed in the bakery. Then from the bakery, it was placed in the storage shed. It is still in use today. It is now utilized by the Park to prepare some of the food that was eaten by the Members. Date of construction is unknown but assumed to be around 1910.
