This being the case, will you support my call for further reductions in London’s road traffic emissions, by incentivising London’s car drivers to adopt cleaner vehicles, by increasing pedestrian areas, and by committing to a timetable for the early roll out of zero-emission technologies across the TfL fleet? Child Travelcards Question No: 469 / 2006 Jennette Arnold Further to Question No: 36 / 2006, you say that the cost of travel to school by the Tube should go down in most cases. However as your answer shows, my constituents who buy Zones 1-2 Travelcards for their children have suffered a 29% cost increase and even if they switch to prepay, they face a 16% increase (which only covers 5 return journeys a week). Would you agree with me that there comes a point where groups of passengers like this will find the price of public transport too high and will return to their cars? 3 * Oyster Pre-Pay on Overground Rail Question No: 537 / 2006 Graham Tope In your Answer to Question 92/2006 you state that the Department for Transport already has powers to compel train operators to make investments - which could include a requirement for them to accept Oyster Pre-Pay.
