The Vodafone Group covers over 83 million subscribers throughout the world in 5 continents and 29 countries. Airtel is implementing Comverse's next generation short message service solution, which is based on a distributed ISMSC architecture to handle the growing SMS demands and to support multiple SMS-based data services. Comverse's ISMSC is a high-performance short message service centre that provides scalable capacity and open connectivity to the Web and SMS-based applications. It provides full IP connectivity, GPRS support and is well prepared for the migration to 3G.
