The first match on Centre Court is the third tour-level meeting between Spanish No. 6 seed Roberto Bautista Agut and Joao Sousa of Portugal. The Portuguese carries a 2-0 advantage in tour-level matches, while the Spaniard won the first four meetings in the lower levels. Following is the first second round match on Centre Court, which is a first time meeting between, Croatian No. 2 Marin Cilic and Gilles Muller of Luxembourg. The third match is a first time meeting between the German teenager Alexander Zverev and Vasek Pospisil of Canada. Last week Zverev, who is the youngest player in the draw, reached his third career ATP World Tour semi-final at Montpellier (l. to Mathieu). In the evening session local title hope Dutch wild card Robin Haase plays his first match of the tournament against the French No. 3 seed Gilles Simon. The former world No. 6 Simon has a 3-1 head- to-head advantage and was won the last three meetings. The last match of the day on Centre Court is a second round match and first time meeting between French No. 5 seed Gael Monfils and Croat Borna Coric. On Court 1 Philipp Kohlschreiber brings a 3-2 head-to-head advantage over qualifer Ivan Dodig in the third second round match of the day. Following is the first meeting between Lucky Loser Evgeny Donskoy, who replaced top seed Richard Gasquet who withdrew due to a viral illness (flu), and Jeremy Chardy.
